🐴 What does the research say about halo-therapy?
At Gr8 Equine, I want horse owners to understand the “why” behind the service — without over-claiming what the research shows.
Several studies helped shape the research behind Gr8 Equine:
📚 Votion et al. studied aerosol deposition in equine lungs and found that aerosolized particles can reach the lungs, including deeper/peripheral lung regions, when delivered with appropriate equipment.
📚 Cha & Costa’s review on inhalation therapy in horses explains that inhalation therapy is a recognized route for equine respiratory care, and that particle size plays an important role in where particles settle in the airway.
📚 Condor/Pienar’s research on dry saline aerosol therapy in horses with mild to moderate equine asthma reported promising improvements in oxygenation and arterial blood-gas values after treatment.
📚 Research on indoor riding arenas has also shown that air quality can change during riding activity, with airborne bacterial loads increasing after riding programs — reminding us that barn, arena, dust, and training environments matter.
For Gr8 Equine, this research supports a careful, supportive approach:
✨ respiratory wellness
✨ airway support
✨ mucus clearance support
✨ recovery and wellness routines
✨ support for horses exposed to dust, travel, training, and changing environments
Halo-Therapy is not a cure and is not a replacement for veterinary diagnosis or treatment. It is designed as a supportive wellness service that may be used as part of your horse’s broader care routine.
Questions are always welcome.
