Our doors will be open again this evening from 6 to 7 for anyone needing support.
A Community Gathering for Grief, Support & Collective Healing 🕊️
In honour of the young woman whose life was lost today
Today, our community experienced a profound and heartbreaking loss. A young woman in our city, in her pain and solitude, believing she had no other path, took her life. The shock of this moment ripples through all of us — through families, witnesses, first responders, friends, and every heart that feels the weight of such tragedy.
At The Golden Thread Sanctuary, we hold space for the truth that grief is not meant to be carried alone.
When something this devastating happens:
- The nervous system contracts
- The heart aches 💔
- The spirit searches for steadiness
Community becomes essential.
We offer our deepest condolences to her loved ones, to those who were present, and to every person impacted by this loss.
Community Support Sessions
In response, we are opening our doors for free community support gatherings — spaces for grounding, sharing, clinical unpacking if needed, and gentle collective healing.
These sessions are not therapy groups, nor are they formal circles. They are places to:
- Breathe
- Sit together
- Speak if you wish
- Listen if you need
- Be held in community as we navigate the aftermath of something no one should have to witness or carry alone
Session Details
- Free, open, and held with care
- Wednesday, August 12: 5:15 PM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday, August 15: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Tuesday, August 25: 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 The Golden Thread Sanctuary
12 Second Street West, Cornwall
These gatherings will be facilitated gently, with space for:
- Nervous system grounding
- Clinical unpacking for those who need support processing what they witnessed or felt
- Quiet reflection
- Shared grief
- Community connection
- The simple human act of not being alone in a moment of collective pain 🤝
You may come for the full session or simply step in for a few minutes. There is no expectation, no pressure, and no requirement to speak. Just a place to land.
A Sanctuary for the Community
We believe in the power of gathering — in the way presence softens shock, in the way shared breath steadies the body, in the way compassion helps us re‑member our woven wholeness even in moments of rupture.
If you or someone you know has been affected by today’s tragedy, you are welcome here.
We walk alongside you.
