We all experience times of change, these are some of the tips and tricks from the Treehouse team to support you in the shift from summer to fall.

๐Ÿ“… Practice one week - when your routines change - whether it is back to school or seasonal work ending, or pivoting away from summer activities - it can be helpful to practice what that change could look like before it happens.

๐Ÿค Work together - change can be overwhelming, and everyone can need something different. Take time with those around you to collaborate during routine changes. For kids, this could look like putting up a "back to school" visual schedule. For adults, it could be talking about each other's expectations for when change happens. Keeping communication and connection can ground you in the shared experience of change.

๐ŸŽ’ Build a "Drop Spot" - having a place where you can consistently put your laptop bag, backpack, shoes, lunch, and outer wear can build a mental break or "off switch" when you're coming home from a busy day.

๐Ÿ’š Focus on what stays the same - if you're feeling anxious about upcoming change, it can help to look at what's not changing to help bring awareness to simple routines that feel steady and grounding.

๐Ÿ‘€ Visualize success - think about your plans and routine going well, and then reflect on what you need to do to make it happen. Is it a consistent bedtime routine for yourself or your family? Is it preparing lunches and snacks in advance?

โš– Find a balance - there will be things you need to do, things you can choose to do, and things you can let go of help adjust to new routines and maintain balance in your schedule.

๐Ÿ– Get organized in a way that works for you - make lists, plan what you can in advance, reflect on what is - and is not - a priority during this season.

Try out one (or all!) of these seven strategies for self-care to support your nervous system through this time of year, as seasons shift from summer to fall.

๐Ÿ˜Œ Breathwork - try out a slow inhale and a slow exhale. Learn a new technique: draw your breath. Take a piece of scrap paper and a pencil or pen, and as you inhale slowly let the pencil move across the paper, continuing as you exhale to draw across the page in any way you want.

๐ŸŽNourishing food - enjoying food that fuels your body is important to support you through summer adventures. Packing food you enjoy that balances the "yum factor" with nutrition on the go can help fuel the adventures!

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธMovement - try an exercise snack! A 2-minute stretch while you make your morning coffee, stretching your calves while you're sitting at your desk, or a 5-10 minute walk adds movement moments to boost your mood during busy days.

๐ŸŒฒSensory friendly space - sitting next to water can be incredibly soothing, a lake, the ocean, or a river; taking a moment to close your eyes and block out the sun can offer reprieve; or heading to a quiet indoor, air-conditioned space like the library can offer needed sensory breaks for those who need it.

๐ŸŒ™Mindfulness - in times of change you might have different needs than your loved ones, paying attention to your mind and body can help you tune in to your needs, connect with those around you, and reduce overwhelm.

๐Ÿ’™ Self compassion - building a new routine can take time for you and those around you. If you can, start routine changes before you need them and check in with yourself - what's going well? What do I need to change to support myself and those around me?

๐Ÿ’กDrop the rope - if you have a lot of tasks on your plate, check-in with yourself. What's important? What can wait? Is there something you can take off your plate, even if for a moment to give yourself some needed time or extra capacity?

No fixing. Just growing.

Youth Camp is a four-day summer camp for children ages 9โ€“12 โ€” designed for kids who feel things deeply, think differently, and are ready to find out what they're capable of.

This isn't a regular camp. It's a small group of 6, led by a therapist who genuinely understands this age group. Over four mornings, children will move, create, connect, and build skills they'll carry well beyond the summer.

Designed especially for children who:
โ†’ Are anxious or socially hesitant
โ†’ Find big groups overwhelming
โ†’ Struggle with confidence or belonging
โ†’ Are highly sensitive or neurodiverse
โ†’ Feel things deeply and need a space that gets them

What children leave with:
โœ… A stronger sense of who they are
โœ… Real tools for the moments that feel hard
โœ… Connection with peers who actually get it
โœ… The experience of being accepted exactly as they are โ€” while discovering they can grow
