π SOUL ALCHEMY β RELATIONSHIP WOUNDS
03 β THE RESCUE WOUND
When Being Needed Feels Like Being Loved
At first, she loved that he trusted her.
He shared his fears, regrets, and the pieces of himself he was still trying to heal.
She listened.
Encouraged him.
Understood his wounds.
And somewhere along the way, being the person he needed began to feel like being the person he loved.
So she gave more.
She carried difficult conversations.
Excused what he couldn't give.
Focused so much on what he needed that she stopped asking:
What do I need?
That's The Rescue Wound.
It doesn't mean the love wasn't real.
It happens when caring turns into carryingβand we begin measuring our value by how much we can heal, fix, forgive or endure for someone else.
Healing taught her something different:
His healing belonged to him.
She could care without rescuing.
Support without fixing.
Love without abandoning herself.
Because there is a difference between someone needing you and someone choosing a partnership with you.
Love doesn't say:
βI'll save you.β
Healthy love says:
βI'll walk beside youβbut you have to walk too.β
π€ SOUL ALCHEMY AFFIRMATION
I don't have to be needed to be loved.
I choose relationships where we walk beside each other.
Love, not rescue. πβ₯οΈ
