♎ LIBRA SEASON! ♎

The Sun enters Libra on Sept. 22 at 5:05 p.m. PDT. Happy Birthday to my Libra readers! ♎🎂

When I say Libra, what comes to mind?

Grace? Relationships? Indecisiveness? 🙂

This year, I want to call out another Libra quality: fairness.

Let me tell you a little story.

Earlier in my leadership career, I had a much-coveted flex arrangement to give away at work. Only one person on the team could get it.

A single mother came into my office.

“You should give it to me,” she said. “I can then register my son for the karate class he really wants. I can’t now because the class runs during the day, and I don’t have anyone else to take him.”

My best performer showed up right after.

“I’m hoping you’ll select me,” she said. “I’ve been on every challenging assignment since this department started. I feel like I’ve contributed much more than some other people, and that’s why I deserve this perk.”

Well…which one would you pick?

Here’s where fairness gets interesting. Is it....

⚖️ Needs-based: Give it to the person who needs it most.

⚖️ Merit-based: Give it to the person who has contributed the most.

⚖️ Equality-based: Treat everyone the same.

All three can sound fair. But they can lead to very different decisions.

So when you feel that you’ve been treated unfairly, here is some food for thought:

Do you and the other person have different ideas about what “fair” means?

Now that’s a very Libra question. ♎

If you never heard of Opportunity Periods, think of them as "electional astrology lite" — if you don't have the time, energy or knowledge to build a full electional chart to find an auspicious moment, an Opportunity Period is the next best thing.

(For finding the most auspicious date/time for big and important events, such as a wedding or starting a business, it's always best to do a full electional chart).

👉🏼 Precision is important with Opportunity Periods. Make sure to convert the dates and times I provide in this post from Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) to your time zone.

✨✨
This Opportunity Period, with the Moon in Gemini applying to Venus in a trine, is particularly favourable for all things communication, and for socializing.

Writers, bloggers and networkers - this one has your name on it.

Having said that, Opportunity Periods boost most undertakings - as long as you use common sense!

For example, if you list your house in a down market way above the current market price for similar properties, no Opportunity Period will help you 🙂

✨✨
The system of opportunity periods was developed by Jim Shawvan, a well-published astrologer who specialized in predictive and electional astrology.

👉🏼 If you're a planner, you can find Opportunity Periods for each week in Llewellyn's Daily Planetary Guide, available on Amazon - in addition to lots of other useful info, such as eclipse dates, retrogrades, and much, much more!
