This was not where I wanted to be today. But I knew from the moment I got up this morning that I needed to prioritize resting.
I am both a horse person and a mom in a neurodivergent household, and I’ve never known anyone from either of these groups to do very well at “taking it easy” even when we are completely drained. I’ve been working hard on giving myself permission to leave things when I can.

There are some things that can’t wait or be put aside, but some things definitely can. Like the dishes.

A reminder that a burnt out you will get much less done, and there is almost always collateral damage.

Also, if you’ve got school aged kids, now is the time to start practicing letting things go - because summer is almost here and it’s time for making memories and embracing chaos, if only for a little while ☀️
