Navel Displacement — Is It Real or Not? 👀

Many people call it “Nabi displacement,” but the navel is not an organ that can simply move out of place.

Feeling a pulse around the navel does NOT mean your navel is displaced. After pregnancy, the Re**us Abdominis muscles can separate, which may change how the area feels. 🤰

And massage? ❌ Massage is not a permanent solution for “navel displacement.”

The long-term approach is understanding your core and pelvic floor and doing the right exercises. 💪

To take the baby out easily, they make a cut and stitch it — and you may struggle to sit or even use the toilet.” ✂️👶

Episiotomy is not mandatory for every delivery. WHO recommends using it only when medically needed. 🩺

A natural perineal tear can sometimes happen during childbirth. An episiotomy is a controlled surgical cut that may be needed when complications arise.

The goal? Prevent unnecessary tears and complications. ❤️

Pelvic floor physiotherapy, prenatal exercises, and perineal massage can help prepare the body for birth. 🤰✨

And when an episiotomy is necessary, proper anesthesia and proper stitching should be provided.

Let’s create better awareness and better maternity care.

Postpartum massage can help — but it won’t fix everything! 🤰💆‍♀️

Just delivered a baby? Postpartum massage may help with temporary muscle swelling and fluid buildup. 💗

But massage alone won’t flatten your belly, strengthen weak muscles, or reduce diastasis. Your core and pelvic floor need proper strengthening after pregnancy and delivery. 💪

Massage can be a good start, but strengthening exercises are key to long-term recovery. ✨

C-Section or normal delivery? Your core muscles are affected in BOTH. 🤰💪

Your abs and pelvic floor are both part of your core. During a C-section, the abdominal muscles are affected, while during vaginal birth, the pelvic floor can be affected due to tears and stitches.

So, there is no “this or that.” ❤️ The type of delivery depends on your doctor and your individual condition, whether it’s an elective or emergency C-section.

The good news? The treatment approach remains important for both. 💪✨

Don’t push your baby out. Breathe your baby out! 👶💨

When we push too hard, the pelvic floor can tighten and make the vaginal canal narrower.

CLIENT REVIEW ❤️

I just finished my physio and I’m super happy I found such a very, very good physio! 🙌

Not only does she provide regular physio, but she also specializes in pelvic physio. This was my second visit, and the follow-up was a total game changer for me! ✨

I didn’t know I was breathing incorrectly or using my pelvic floor muscles the wrong way, which was making them weak.

Thank you for helping me understand my body better! 💜

Your Navel Isn’t an Organ

Your navel is not an organ that can move around your abdomen. Let’s clear up this common myth!

There is a lot of information online about navel displacement, including videos showing people pressing, pulling, or massaging the abdomen to supposedly bring the navel back into position.

But let's understand the anatomy first. 🧠

Before you were born, your umbilical cord connected you to your mother while you were developing in the womb. After birth, the cord was cut, and the area healed.
The belly button we see today is essentially the scar or residue left from that connection.

That means the navel itself is not an internal organ that can physically shift from one location to another.

If you have abdominal discomfort, digestive symptoms, or notice a bulge, there may be another explanation. One possibility that should be considered is a hernia

A hernia and “navel displacement” are not the same thing. A hernia involves tissue pushing through a weak area in the abdominal wall and needs proper medical evaluation.

This is why you should be careful with videos claiming that a hernia or abdominal problem can be “cured” simply through massage or certain techniques that have not been scientifically established.

Please don't take risks with your health.

👉 If you have ongoing indigestion or gastric symptoms, talk to your doctor.

👉 If you notice something popping out or a new abdominal bulge, consult a qualified surgeon to rule out a hernia.

👉 If you are concerned about abdominal wall weakness, diastasis recti, or how to manage pressure and movement safely, a qualified pelvic physiotherapist can help guide you.

The goal isn't to scare you. The goal is to make sure you get the right assessment for the right problem.
