Keeping dentures clean is an essential part of your oral health, preventing infections like thrush, and ensuring your dentures fit comfortably for years to come.
Here are some tips for daily cleaning, weekly care, and critical habits to avoid:
- Rinse after every meal: Take your dentures out and run them under warm water to wash away loose food particles.
-Handle with care: Place a folded towel in the sink or fill it with water before cleaning. Dentures can break easily if dropped on a hard surface.
-Brush thoroughly: Use a soft-bristled denture brush and a non-abrasive denture cleanser or mild hand soap. Clean every surface, including the underside that touches your gums.
-Clean your mouth too: Before reinserting your dentures, use a soft toothbrush or damp washcloth to clean your gums, tongue, roof of your mouth, and any remaining natural teeth.
