It was an honour to share my experiences as a Métis woman and discuss the traditions, values, and cultural teachings that guide my family and my work. 📰 We Made the News! 📰

Seeing BOLD featured in the Drayton Valley Free Press this week is a proud moment for our organization and everyone who has supported us along the way.

While the article highlights our May 28 Jail & Bail fundraiser, it also shines a light on something much bigger: a community coming together to support opportunities for children to learn, explore, discover, and grow.

BOLD exists because of the collective efforts of volunteers, families, sponsors, donors, community leaders, local businesses, and supporters who believe that outdoor learning experiences matter. Every program, camp, field trip, fundraiser, sponsorship, and volunteer hour helps create meaningful opportunities for local children.

While Jail & Bail was a tremendous success, it represents just one piece of the ongoing work required to keep BOLD’s programs running. As a not for profit organization, we rely on the continued support of our community through donations, sponsorships, grants, fundraising initiatives, and volunteers. Every contribution helps ensure local children can continue to access the outdoor learning, exploration, and discovery opportunities that make BOLD so special.

The success of the Jail & Bail fundraiser was a reflection of that support. It was a day filled with laughter, community spirit, and people stepping up to help ensure that BOLD can continue to grow and serve families throughout our region.

To everyone who has supported BOLD in any way, whether you’ve attended a program, volunteered your time, donated, sponsored an event, shared our posts, or encouraged others to get involved, thank you.

Another year of Lil’ Explorers has come to an end, and my heart is so full of gratitude. Thank you to all of the parents and participants for making this such an amazing year filled with learning, laughter, adventure, and connection. Watching the children grow in confidence, curiosity, and kindness has been such a privilege.
As we said goodbye to some of our Lil’ Explorers moving on to their next adventures, I felt both proud and emotional knowing how much they have grown. I am so excited to see where their journeys take them, and I hope they always carry a love for exploring, learning, and the outdoors with them.

To our returning participants, I cannot wait to welcome you back in the Fall as the BOLD Society begins this exciting new chapter. Watching these programs grow from a small dream into a community-supported not-for-profit has been incredibly meaningful, and I am so excited for what the future holds.

Thank you to everyone who has supported BOLD over the last 10 years. Your encouragement, trust, and belief in these programs have made all of this possible. I am deeply grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community, and I look forward to continuing to grow and learn together for many years to come.❤️🌿😊

In spring of 2022 Dave and Mark from Weyerhaeuser Pembina Timberlands spent the afternoon planting trees with an amazing group of Lil’ Explorers… those kiddos have gone on to elementary school and grown so much 🥰 As I walked around The BOLD Centre this evening I noticed all of the trees are growing too. What an amazing gift I have that brings back so many memories😊
