Reduce the risk of concussion.

While not all concussions can be prevented, evidence-informed prevention strategies can help reduce the risk of concussion in sport. These include rule and policy changes, appropriate protective equipment, training strategies, and concussion management practices .

Did you know? Nearly 15,000 concussions are diagnosed in Alberta emergency departments each year, and about 20% are sport-related.

The actual number is likely higher, as many concussions are diagnosed outside of emergency departments or go unreported altogether.
