🛶💙 CMEE Day Two — My Heart Was Full! 💙🛶

Looking back at last Wednesday in Toronto, I still can’t believe how quickly the second day of CMEE flew by!

My day started with a beautiful surprise when my lunch guest from the day before stopped by just to say hello and wish me a wonderful day. 💙

Then it got BUSY! Leather Canoe Business Card Holders were being created, Nipiy was being enjoyed, stories were being shared and new business connections were happening everywhere.

Suddenly, I looked at the clock… 3 PM! Where had the day gone? 😂

What I will remember most are the people — conversations about meaningful projects, new opportunities, families, new babies and, of course, my beautiful grandchildren. ❤️

There were handshakes, waves across the room and so many wonderful hugs.

Toronto had an energy of PASSION and CONNECTION that I will carry with me.

Thank you to everyone who created with me, shared a conversation, enjoyed some Nipiy, waved hello or gave me a hug.

🛶💙 CMEE Day Two — What a Way to End My Toronto Experience! 💙🛶

Looking back at the second day of CMEE in Toronto last Wednesday, I keep thinking about one word: connection.

My day started with a wonderful surprise when my lunch guest from the day before stopped by just to say hello and wish me well for Day Two. How beautiful is that? Those small acts of kindness stay with you. 💙

And then the day took off!

Before I knew it, people were sitting with me creating their own Leather Canoe Business Card Holders, tasting Nipiy Beverages, sharing stories, asking questions and talking about possibilities for working together.

Suddenly, I looked at the time and it was 3:00 PM! Where had the conference gone? 😂

There were so many business connections and conversations about meaningful projects and future opportunities. But there were also conversations that had absolutely nothing to do with business — and I think those were some of my favourites.

We talked about families. We celebrated new babies. And, of course, I happily talked about my beautiful grandchildren whom I absolutely adore. ❤️

People asked if they could hug me. Others shook my hand and shared how happy they were that we had met. There were smiles and waves from across the room from people I had connected with the day before.

My heart was so happy.

This is what building relationships feels like to me. It isn’t simply exchanging a business card. It is discovering common interests, sharing stories, learning about one another and finding those moments where our paths connect.

The word I kept feeling in Toronto was PASSION.

Passion for our businesses.
Passion for our communities.
Passion for creating meaningful experiences.
And passion for the people we meet along the journey.

To everyone who sat with me, created with me, shared a story, talked business, drank some Nipiy, waved from across the room, shook my hand or gave me one of those wonderful hugs — Hiy Hiy. Thank you. 🪶💙

I appreciate each and every one of you.

Toronto, thank you for an amazing visit. You filled my heart, and I hope to see you again very soon. ✨🛶

🛶✨ Looking back on an incredible first day at CMEE in Toronto! ✨🛶

Last Tuesday, I had the privilege of spending the day at the Explore Edmonton booth at CMEE, helping so many wonderful attendees create their very own leather canoe business card holders.

There was something so special about watching people slow down, work with their hands, ask questions, share stories and connect. 💙

The table was filled with laughter, creativity, curiosity and meaningful conversations. Those are the moments I love most about sharing experiences through Dragonfly Spirit CreeAtions — we may begin by creating something together, but we often leave having created a connection too.

Throughout the busy day, I was very thankful to have my Spring Nipiy keeping me hydrated! 💧

I also had the most unexpected and inspiring lunch conversation. We shared stories about life, business and the journeys that bring us together. It reminded me that some of the most meaningful connections happen when we least expect them. ✨

The day ended with a beautiful evening at Queen’s Harbour, continuing the conversations, meeting more amazing people and taking in the Toronto experience.

When I look back on that first day, I feel incredibly grateful for every person who sat at my table, created a canoe, shared a story, asked a question or simply stopped by to say hello.

🛶 We created more than leather canoes that day — we created connections.

And those are the moments I carry home with me. 💙

🛶✨ What an amazing first day at CMEE in Toronto! ✨🛶

My heart is full after spending last Tuesday at the Explore Edmonton booth, where so many wonderful people stopped by to create their very own leather canoe business card holder with me.

There was so much laughter, creativity and curiosity around the table. But what I loved most were the conversations and connections that happened while our hands were busy creating. 💙

That is something I truly love about the work I do with Dragonfly Spirit CreeAtions. We may begin by creating something with our hands, but along the way we share stories, learn from one another and create connections that can stay with us long after the experience is finished.

I was also very thankful for my Spring Nipiy keeping me hydrated throughout such a busy day! 💧

And somehow, in the middle of everything, I ended up having the most wonderful lunch with an unexpected guest. We shared meaningful and inspiring stories, and it reminded me again how amazing it is when people come into our lives when we least expect it.

We are having dinner at Queen’s Harbour and another opportunity to connect, laugh and enjoy this beautiful Toronto experience.

What a wonderful first day. 🥰

I am grateful for every person who sat at my table today, created a canoe, shared a story, asked a question, or simply stopped to say hello.

This is what connection looks like. 🛶💙

✨ Hello from Toronto! ✨

I arrived in Toronto yesterday afternoon, and already my heart feels so full. 💙

There is something so special about spending time with amazing women and having conversations filled with creativity, hope, dreams, and possibility. Sometimes one conversation can spark an idea, open a door, or simply remind us how powerful connection can be.

Today was extra special because I finally got to meet Sherry and Kim in person! 🥰 We have spent so much time together through Zoom, but there is nothing quite like finally sharing a hug, sitting together, laughing, and being in each other’s energy. What a beautiful gift.

And then there is the Fairmont Royal York… what a beautiful hotel, filled with so much history and character. Their incredible flower display in the lobby immediately caught my attention.

And YES… the flowers are real! 🌸🌺🌿
I touched them just to make sure. 😂

Toronto is such a different experience for me, and I am taking it all in — the energy, the buildings, the people, the conversations and all the possibilities.

Today I’m heading into the 35th annual Canadian Meetings + Events Expo (CMEE) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I’m excited to learn, connect, share stories, and see where the next few days lead.

I have a feeling there are going to be some beautiful connections made here. ✨

Here’s to new places, new friendships, big ideas, meaningful conversations…and maybe a few more hugs along the way. 💙

There is something truly special about arriving a little early and simply being present. 💚🌿

As I wait for everyone to arrive for tonight’s Wild Forest Therapy & Smudge Bundle Creation experience, I find myself surrounded by the beauty of the Devonian Gardens. Everywhere I look, something is blooming. The flowers are vibrant, the greenery is alive, and the gentle sounds of nature remind me to slow down and breathe.

Nature has a beautiful way of preparing our hearts before we even begin.

Tonight we will walk with intention, reconnect with the land, gather in gratitude, and create our own sacred smudge bundles—each one carrying the energy, prayers, and intentions of its creator.

I can’t wait to share this beautiful evening with everyone. Thank you, Creator, for these moments of peace, beauty, and connection.

There are some evenings when music does more than fill a room… it reaches into your heart. 🎶💖

Tonight I have been listening to the beautiful songs of Susan Aglukark, and every lyric feels like it carries a story, a memory, and a gentle reminder to slow down and simply be. Her voice has a way of bringing peace, reflection, and healing, reminding me of the strength, resilience, and beauty found in Indigenous music and storytelling.

As the songs play, I find myself filled with gratitude—for this day, for the people I love, and for the quiet moments that nourish the spirit.

Sometimes the greatest medicine is simply to sit, listen, and let the music carry you home.
