I turn people away from this treatment every single week.
If a clinic says yes to everyone — run.
Here's who I don't treat with XERF radiofrequency skin tightening at my Edmonton clinic:
❌ Advanced laxity. Heavy jowling, significant neck banding? I'll tell you honestly that a surgical opinion serves you better than any device. You deserve the truth, not a sale.
❌ Pigmentation, texture, or acne scarring. Tightening isn't the answer for those concerns — that's a different technology entirely. Right tool, right problem.
❌ Certain medical conditions, implanted devices, or recent fat grafting. We don't proceed. Full stop. That's medicine.
✅ Who I most love to catch early: the jawline that's starting to blur. Cheeks sitting a little lower than they used to. A neck that's just beginning to change.
That's the window where non-surgical skin tightening does its best work — and most people miss it because they wait until a device is no longer the right answer.
Ethical aesthetics means sometimes saying "not this, not yet, not you."
Not sure which category your face is in? That's not a guess to make alone in the mirror at 11pm. That's a consultation.
💬 Comment HONEST and I'll send you the candidacy checklist I use in clinic.
