What goes into a year of facial rejuvenation? In this case, several treatments with different roles. ✨

This patient’s before-and-after photographs were taken approximately one year apart. During that time, care at Albany Cosmetic & Laser Centre included:

• One Fraxel laser session
• Facial fillers in the cheeks, chin, under-eyes and temples
• Botox every four months

Why combine treatments? Skin texture, facial volume and expression lines each need their own assessment. A personalised plan considers these concerns together and how treating one area may influence the overall facial appearance.

In the later photographs, the forehead looks smoother, the under-eye area blends more softly into the cheeks, and the cheeks and chin show more definition. Natural skin texture remains visible.

An old burn scar after one Fraxel session

This case from Albany Cosmetic & Laser Centre in Edmonton shows a visible change in cheek burn scarring after a single Fraxel treatment.

In the follow-up photographs, the scar appears less red and less noticeable against the surrounding skin. The change is visible in both the front and angled views.

Does the Cheek-Lift Test Mean You Need Filler?

If the nasolabial fold softens, it can seem obvious that cheek filler will create the same result. But does it?

The mirror check shows what happens when you manually move the tissue. Cheek filler works differently by adding volume and support. It may help when cheek volume loss contributes to the fold, but the hand-lift test alone cannot tell you which treatment is appropriate.

New before-and-after case from our Edmonton clinic: cheeks and smile lines, photographed one month apart.

This patient received four threads, with two on each side, plus two filler syringes, one per side. Three-quarters of each syringe was placed in the cheek and one-quarter in the smile line.

The after photos show slightly fuller cheek contours and softer smile-line shadows.

Botox Once = Botox Forever? | Reality or Myth?

“If I start Botox, will I have to keep doing it?”

That is a MYTH. Cosmetic Botox has a temporary effect, and continuing treatment is your choice.
