Brain injury and homelessness are often interconnected.
Each year, over 235,000 people in Canada experience homelessness—and nearly half are living with a brain injury.
These challenges don’t exist in isolation. Mental health, trauma, and systemic barriers all play a role.
That’s why support needs to be holistic.
At Brain Care Centre, we walk alongside individuals—providing guidance, support, and care as they move toward stability and recovery. 💙

🧡June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, which coincides with the summer solstice.
Today, we honour the strength and resilience of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
At the Brain Care Centre, we’re reminded that listening matters.
Stories matter.
And healing looks different for everyone.
Reconciliation is something we commit to every day through respect, reflection, and action.
We are grateful for the cultures, knowledge, and voices that continue to shape stronger, more connected communities.
Today and every day, we remain committed to learning, listening, and supporting healing.

We’re proud to share a space at the Buchanan Centre with our friends at the Parkinson Association of Alberta. Although we serve different communities, we’re united in creating a welcoming place where people can connect, support one another, and feel a true sense of belonging. 💙

We’re still feeling inspired after our Brain Care Breakfast 💙 presented by Assiff Law Office.
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we raised $30,000 to advance brain care and support those who need it most. Every donation, conversation, and moment of connection made a real impact.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and helped make this event such a success—we truly couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you to the 235 people who joined us for our Brain Care Breakfast, presented by Assiff Law Office. Together, we raised over $30,000 in support of brain injury awareness and care. 🧠

A heartfelt thank you to our emcee, Connie Kobylko, a former client, for guiding the morning with warmth and authenticity. We’re also grateful to our keynote speaker Janelle Breese-Biagioni for sharing her work leading a national strategy, and to Jason McClure for sharing his experience as a client. Our sincerest thanks to Elder Ron Janvier who opened the event with a meaningful land acknowledgement and prayer.

We were honoured to receive a proclamation from Mayor Andrew Knack recognizing June as Brain Injury Awareness Month in Edmonton.

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, volunteers, and donors. Because of you, the morning was a true success.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event so meaningful.💙
