Halfway through summer. And you're still going.

Still managing the household. Still showing up for everyone. Still functioning on the outside while running on empty underneath.

If you have spent this summer wondering whether what you are feeling is perimenopause, burnout, stress, or just your new normal —

I want to help you answer that.

A free Hormone Clarity Call is 20 minutes where we look at your symptoms, your cycle, and your stress load together. No protocol pushed. No adding more to your agenda. Just clarity.

If something has felt off and you have not had someone take it seriously yet — that is what I do.

They are everywhere. They are backed by studies. And for women with already-elevated cortisol — they might be making things worse.

→ Intermittent Fasting
Skipping breakfast sounds clean. But a cortisol surge in the morning without fuel? Your body reads that as a threat — not a health choice. Fasting stress + life stress = compounding cortisol load.

→ Cold Plunges
Yes, some people swear by them. And for a well-rested nervous system, there is data. But if you are already dysregulated, cold shock is just another stressor layered onto a system that is already bracing.

→ Daily High-Intensity Cardio
HIIT every morning is cortisol. More cortisol. Cortisol that your progesterone then pays for. Movement is medicine — but the dose matters.

I wrote the full breakdown in this week's blog.

Cycle syncing got popular. Then it got oversimplified. Then it got dismissed.

And somewhere in the process, the actual value of it — for your hormones, your energy, your life — got completely buried under aesthetic content about which smoothie to have in your follicular phase.

In this episode of What the HORMONES, I am talking about what cycle syncing actually is, what it is not, why the backlash happened, and how to use it in a way that is practical and grounded — not prescriptive.

I used to think exhaustion was just... my life now.

Then I started actually understanding what was happening in my body — and everything changed.

My mission is to help women entering midlife see the truth: their burnout, their PMS, their exhaustion are hormone signals from an overloaded system — not something to push through.

Not a phase. Not "just aging." Not a personal failing.

A pattern. One you can actually interrupt — once you know what's driving it.

That's the work I do here. Hormone education, nervous system support, and cyclical living — for women who are done white-knuckling their way through midlife and ready to come back to themselves.

If that's you — welcome. I'm glad you're here. 👋

Summer is beautiful.

It is also when women's cortisol spikes, the routines that were quietly holding their hormones together fall apart, and the mental load of everyone else's joy becomes their full-time job.

You are expected to plan it.
Coordinate it.
Show up for all of it.
And love every second.

Meanwhile your sleep is unpredictable. Your eating is irregular. Your cycle is confused. And there is no quiet in the house.

You are not ungrateful. You are depleted.

And that is allowed to be true even when the days are long and the light is golden.

Your hormones do not take a summer vacation.

You deserve support that doesn't either.

Your hormones aren't broken.

They're asking you to slow down.

That fire alarm feeling? It's not random — it's cortisol, running the show because no one ever told it to stand down.

You don't need more willpower. You need a different way of living in your body.

Let's stop calling it mom rage.

It is not rage.

It is a woman who has been absorbing, regulating, accommodating, and performing — for everyone in her orbit — with no one doing the same for her.

It is her luteal phase arriving and finally stripping away the estrogen buffer that made all of that feel manageable.

And what she is left with is not anger.

It is clarity.

The relationship is imbalanced. The house is still entirely hers. The mental list has never been shared.

Luteal truth-telling is not a problem to be managed.

It is information. And it deserves to be taken seriously.

💬 Has anyone ever told you to 'calm down' during your luteal phase? Comment below.

You cannot run on 5 hours of sleep and expect your hormones to cooperate.

You cannot skip every meal until 2pm and wonder why your mood crashes at 3.

You cannot hold the emotional weight of everyone in your house and have nothing left for your luteal phase.

You cannot people-please through every interaction and expect your nervous system to stay regulated.

You cannot outsource your rest, your food, your softness — and then be surprised that your cycle is telling you something is wrong.

This is not judgment. This is hormone math.

Your body is not failing you. It is responding to you.

And it has been waiting for someone to name this — not as a flaw, but as a pattern that can actually change.

That is what I do inside Living in Flow.

DM me FLOW if you want to want to learn the next step in aligning to your hormones.

Perimenopause does not create problems.

It reveals them.

👉 The stress you normalized for a decade.
👉 The sleep you pushed through because there was no other option.
👉 The nervous system that learned to brace because rest was never safe enough.
👉 The emotional load you absorbed because that was just what you did.

Perimenopause is not the beginning of the chaos.

It is just the moment your body stops being able to compensate for it quietly.

The women who struggle the most in perimenopause are usually the ones who were already running on empty — and were just very, very good at hiding it.

You were not falling apart then. You were holding everything.

And now your body is finally asking for something different.

Comment 💛 if you can relate.

Hot take: cortisol gets a terrible reputation.

And it deserves some of it. But not all of it.

Cortisol is your get-up-and-go hormone. It is what wakes you up in the morning, sharpens your focus, and gets you through a real emergency.

The problem is not cortisol.

The problem is that your nervous system does not know the difference between a genuine threat and a full school-year schedule, a relationship that feels unsupported, and a to-do list that never ends.

When cortisol runs high for too long, it steals from progesterone — the hormone that keeps you calm, helps you sleep, and buffers your cycle.

Not bad. Just overworked.

Kind of like you.
