Perimenopause Isn’t Just About You—It Affects Your Relationships Too

Your hormones affect more than just your body—they influence mood, sleep, energy, and even intimacy, which can ripple into your relationships.

Becoming hormone-informed can help you:
💡 Understand why you feel the way you do
🗣️ Communicate more effectively with your partner
❤️ Reduce misunderstandings and frustration
💞 Support your emotional well-being and strengthen your relationships

Hormone changes during perimenopause and menopause can also affect s*xual health:
• Lower libido
• Physical changes that make s*x uncomfortable or painful
• Shifts in psychological desire

💡 Tip: Learning what your symptoms mean and how to manage them isn’t just about your health—it’s about creating more harmony at home, improving intimacy, and feeling more like yourself again.

Is a Menopause Consult Worth It if I’m Not Sure I’m in Perimenopause Yet?

Absolutely. You don’t need to wait until symptoms are intense—or even clearly present—to benefit from a menopause consultation. Much of what I do is education: helping you understand what’s happening in your body now, what changes to expect in the years ahead, and why certain symptoms may start to appear.

A visit now gives you a chance to:
→ Learn how the menopause transition unfolds and what early signs to watch for.

→ Explore lifestyle strategies that support long-term bone, heart, and brain health.

→ Build habits—around sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress management—that will serve you well through midlife and beyond.

→ Understand treatment options so you’re prepared if you choose to use them later.

You don’t have to wait until things feel “unbearable.” Preparing early can make the whole transition smoother and give you more control over your health and quality of life.

As if mood swings weren’t enough… now your ears are in on it. Experiencing itchy ears? It might be perimenopause.

Yep — it’s more common than you think. Hormonal shifts, especially declining estrogen, can cause changes in skin hydration and elasticity — even inside your ears. That dryness can lead to irritation, itching, and discomfort.

What can help:

Use a gentle, non-irritating moisturizer around (not inside) the ear.

Avoid scratching — it can make irritation worse or lead to a secondary infection.

Stay hydrated and support overall skin health.

If itching persists, see your healthcare provider to rule out infection or eczema.

Perimenopause symptoms aren’t always the “classic” ones — sometimes it’s the small, strange things that remind us our hormones are shifting.
