Work of ART Coaching Andrea Troughton
Personal Trainer, Holistic Health Coach, Author & Speaker I love helping clients improve their lifestyles and their self-esteem.

I believe that your body truly is a work of art, and it is deserving of your love. I want to help people make physical activity a regular part of their lives, by helping them to find activities that bring them joy, while also working toward their health and fitness goals. I believe in educating my clients on how to nourish their bodies and make healthful food choices, while still enjoying and appr

eciating the foods that they eat. Health and wellness is a way of life, and enjoying the process and finding your personal balance is key.

Diet culture taught a lot of us to treat food like something to control.

How much we eat.
When we eat.
What we “should” choose.
What we have to earn, avoid, or make up for later.

But food and eating were never supposed to be another way to punish ourselves into being “better.”

Eating is one of the ways we nourish ourselves, support our energy, connect with others, experience pleasure, and move through our day as humans with bodies that need to be fed.

Making peace with food is one of the most caring things you can do for yourself 💚

After 10+ years as a personal trainer, I care a lot less about “perfect” workout plans and a lot more about helping people build a relationship with movement they can actually come back to.

The goal is not to punish, perfect, or prove yourself into wellness. The goal is to find movement that feels safe, realistic, supportive, flexible, and joyful.

The self care practices I come back to again and again are the ones that help me feel grounded, supported, connected, and human. Time with people I care about and who care about me. Time with myself. Therapy. Writing, journalling, creative self expression. Sleep and recovery.

These things may not look flashy from the outside, but they matter. They help me feel more resourced, more connected to myself, and more able to move through the harder parts of being a person in a body, in a life, in a world that asks a lot of us.

Your non-negotiables might look completely different, and that’s okay. Self care looks different for different people.

What are yours? 🧡

If you’ve been waiting until you feel “ready” to work with a trainer, I want to gently remind you that you do not need to feel confident in the gym before asking for support. That is part of what personal training can help with.

Jill brings a thoughtful, encouraging, and client-centred approach to movement. She pays attention to the person in front of her, adapts when needed, and helps clients build strength, confidence, and trust in their bodies at a pace that actually feels supportive.

If you’re newer to strength training, coming back after time away, navigating pain or injury, or feeling intimidated by the gym, Jill might be a really lovely fit.

You do not need to walk in already knowing exactly what you’re doing. You’re allowed to try things, adjust, laugh, rest, ask questions, and take up space while you learn.

Confidence in the gym is not something you need before you start. It is something you build over time, one supportive experience at a time. 🧡

In this month’s blog, I’m sharing a deeper look at my Wild Roses experience, including the parts that felt beautiful, the parts that felt tender, and the ways the weekend invited me to reflect on vulnerability, grief, connection, and community.

This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of nurturing a community where folx feel safe to be authentic and vulnerable.

And it reminded me that the best way for me to keep building that kind of community is to continue getting comfortable with my own authentic and vulnerable self.

The full reflection is now up on the blog, click the link in bio to read.

Self care is a long game, which I know is not always the most exciting thing to hear when we’re constantly being sold quick fixes, 30-day challenges, spa treatments, resets, routines, and the idea that one perfect thing will finally make us feel well forever.

But lasting self care is usually much less glamorous than that.

It is the small things we come back to again and again. The practices that fit our lives. The choices that support our bodies, capacity, schedules, budgets, and changing seasons.

It does not have to be perfect, expensive, aesthetic, or impressive to matter. It just has to be something you can keep finding your way back to. 🧡
