And just like that 🫰 it’s June.

Starting Monday, it’s a new month and a couple changes on the schedule (for this week anyhow). There’s no reformer classes on Thursday and no Sculpt and Burn on Friday - however the new Yoga Therapy series kicks off this Friday! Registration will close Thursday evening (last chance to sign up!).

Our Flow & Stretch yoga class blitz weekend is about to kick off and we still have a couple (literally 1-2 spots) left per class.

will be kicking things off with a class from 12:00-1:00 PM TOMORROW (Friday May 28)

Sarah Lynn will end the day with a 5:30-6:30 PM class

On Saturday we have Gail from 12:00-1:00 PM, and Felicia from 5:30-6:30 PM.

On Sunday, Melissa teaches from 12:00-1:00 PM and ends the weekend with a class from 5:30-6:30 PM.

All classes are completely free, to end our in depth 5 month training! They do however require registration, so please sign up to hold your spot!

Last week of May, our early AM reformer class is back, and we have 6 free classes for you this week!

Join us on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (or all three) for a Flow & Stretch yoga class. Time slots available - 12-1 PM or 5:30-6:30 PM. Some are almost at capacity so don’t wait to sign up! Even though they’re free, they still require a sign up.

Rise and Shine Yoga - 6:15-7:15 AM every Monday morning!

NEW 8-WEEK MORNING YOGA SERIES: BACKBENDS FROM THE GROUND UP

Starting tomorrow in our early morning classes, we’ll be exploring backbends in a way that is intentional, progressive, and supportive for every body.
Backbends are energizing and great to start your day!

This is NOT a “how flexible can you get” series.
Instead, we’ll spend 8 weeks learning how backbends actually work — by building strength in the back body while gradually opening the front body in a safe and sustainable way.

Each week we’ll focus on one major muscle group that supports backbends and one area of the body that benefits from gentle opening. We’ll keep a familiar class structure each week so you can truly feel your progress over time — not just in the poses themselves, but in your awareness, confidence, posture, breath, and strength.

We’ll begin with foundational movements like Cobra and Locust, then slowly build toward deeper expressions such as Camel, Bow, and optional Wheel variations by the end of the series.

Here is what you can expect:
✔️Consistent flows and repetition
✔️A calm, grounded early morning practice
✔️Strength-focused movement
✔️Gentle mobility work
✔️Anatomy education woven into class
✔️Modifications and props always encouraged

This series is designed to help you understand your body — not force it.

Whether you love backbends, avoid them completely, or simply want to feel stronger and more open in daily life, this series will meet you where you are.

Did you know it’s National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) week? These men and women serve our communities and literally save lives around the clock.

This Friday we would like to extend an invite to all of the police officers, paramedics and firefighters in our area for a FREE yoga class at 7:30 PM. You can find the sign up link in our Momence app, or message us for the link.

It’s our small way of saying thank you, and to give you a bit of rest and pause in the midst of chaotic careers that mean so much to our community.

Two more weeks until registration closes for our 6 week Yoga Therapy Fall Prevention Series!

This 6-week Yoga Therapy series is designed to support students in improving balance, building functional strength, and increasing body awareness to help reduce the risk of falls. The program takes a progressive, educational approach, guiding participants step-by-step from developing awareness of their body in space to building strength, stability, and confidence in movement.

Each 80-minute class combines gentle, accessible yoga-based movement with breathwork, balance training, and guided awareness practices. The series focuses on real-life movement patterns such as standing, walking, and transitioning in and out of a chair, making it highly practical and applicable to daily life.

Students will learn how to:

✔️Improve proprioception (awareness of body position)
✔️Develop strength in the feet, legs, hips, and core
✔️Enhance balance and coordination
✔️Maintain stability during dynamic movement
✔️Build confidence and reduce fear around falling

Classes are small and supportive, with options for all levels. Props such as chairs, blocks, straps, and the wall are incorporated to ensure safety and accessibility.

This series is ideal for older adults, individuals returning to movement after injury, or anyone looking to improve balance, stability, and confidence in their body.

It’s BACK!

Laurentian Lodge and Nadia Carriere have teamed up to provide you with the ultimate in bliss. Join us on June 28th from 10 AM to 12 PM for a sound bath followed by a beautiful breakfast on the lake for your enjoyment. Using crystal bowls, gongs, and a variety other instruments as well as vocals and mantras, Nadia will lead you through an immersive experience, as we dive into vibrational frequencies.

We will then indulge in a breakfast spread from the chefs . To complement your brunch experience, we offer a selection of freshly brewed coffee, aromatic teas, and refreshing juices. Join us at the this event and savour the flavours of a morning in style.

There will be no movement during this workshop, all you will need is a yoga mat, and blanket. Cost is $75 and space is limited, so please RSVP if you plan on attending!

What is sound therapy?

Particular sounds can cause our brain waves to speed up or slow down. Sound alters the nervous system primarily because of entrainment. Entrainment shifts our brainwave state by changing the rhythm and frequency of the wave patterns. That is why during a sound healing session, your normal waking (beta) state shifts to (alpha) relaxed or (theta) meditative state. Some people experience a type of conscious sleep, where they are self-aware, not in the physical sense, but more of a general awareness. Other people fall into a deep sleep (delta) where there is neither awareness of the physical body nor mental images. Healing and reprogramming is optimal in the theta and delta state, where it is almost impossible to be stressed or agitated.
