THIS is why I created the Radiant Girls Collective. ❤️

My childhood was a bit… painful. Unstable.

We moved almost every year — different homes, bedrooms, schools and friends.

But at one school I loved, there was a student teacher named Wendy.

I can’t remember what I did last week 😂… but I will never forget Wendy.

Because she saw something in me.

She made me feel safe, special, confident and capable — even when things were hard.

When she left, she gave me the little bear in this photo:

“Bless you for being you.”

That bear came with me through every move and every difficult chapter that followed.

And I still have it. ❤️

THAT is the heart of the Radiant Girls Collective.

Starting Sept 19, we’ll spend 12 weeks exploring confidence, courage, resilience, emotions, friendships, boundaries, authenticity, purpose and more.

But underneath all of it?

These girls will be encouraged to be THEMSELVES. ❤️

Not who they should be.
Not who they need to be to fit in.
Not who social media tells them to be.

⭐️ Who they already are.

They’ll discover their strengths, what makes them unique, and tools they can reach for when life gets hard — alongside other girls learning to celebrate themselves AND each other.

And just like I still have my bear, each girl will leave with a special keepsake from our 12 weeks together — something to remind her:

Who she is.
What she’s capable of.
And that being herself is enough. ❤️

Wendy gave that gift to me.

And now I get the incredible honour of offering it to another generation of girls.

🔥 SO… ABOUT THAT PERIMENOPAUSAL RAGE. 😂

If lately you’ve been wondering…

Why is EVERYTHING annoying me?
Why do I have ZERO tolerance for things I used to put up with?
And why do I suddenly give so many fewer sh*ts?! 😂

There may be something worth paying attention to.

During perimenopause, estrogen can fluctuate significantly — and estrogen interacts with brain systems involved in mood and emotional regulation.

So yes: irritability, anger, rage and BIG emotions can absolutely show up.

But instead of immediately trying to get rid of them…

What if you got curious?

Because while science can’t technically confirm menopause makes us “give less of a sh*t” 😂, many women DO find themselves less willing to tolerate situations, expectations and relationships that require them to abandon themselves.

Perimenopause can feel like being dropped onto a sailboat in an ocean storm. ⛵️🌊

Without knowledge or tools? You might feel completely overwhelmed.

But learn how your vessel works, learn the navigation tools and learn how to sail?

Completely different journey.

One of my favourite tools is ✨ SELF-INCLUSIVITY. ✨

Before making a choice, ask:

“Am I included in this?”

Are MY needs at the table too — or just everyone else’s?

No selfishness required. Just self-love. ❤️

Because without tools, those big peri/meno feelings can start screaming:

SELL EVERYTHING. QUIT YOUR JOB. END THE RELATIONSHIP. MOVE TO THE FOREST. BURN IT ALL DOWN. 🔥😂

Sometimes something DOES need to change.

But first, get curious:

What is this anger telling me?
What am I no longer willing to tolerate?
What do I need now?

Perimenopause isn’t simply something to survive.

It can be an invitation to become more fully yourself.

The Crone. The Wise Woman. 🌟

And that woman on the other side?

You’re going to fu***ng love her. 🔥❤️

Learn your body. Learn the tools. Learn how to sail. ⛵️

🔥 “THE UNHOLY AMOUNT OF RAGE I SWALLOWED WOULD HAVE BURIED YOU.”

I saw a friend post this this morning and thought…

Oh yes. I FEEL THAT. Deeply.

Except these days, I’m learning to stop swallowing mine.

Take last night…

Ruby and I were sitting on a patio in Elora when I looked over and watched the man behind us pull out his lighter and burn an ant.

For absolutely no reason.

There wasn’t even ONE SECOND where I wondered if I should say something.

“Excuse me… what in the WORLD are you doing?”

“What are YOU looking at?”

😂 Ohhhh sir. Let’s try that again, darling.

I asked again.

An argument ensued, with him repeatedly trying to make the problem me watching him instead of, you know… him intentionally burning a living creature for entertainment. 🙄

But here’s the important part:

I didn’t back down.
I didn’t make myself smaller because he was angry.
I didn’t smile awkwardly.
I didn’t swallow my anger to keep everyone else comfortable.

I used it.

Because sometimes RAGE IS INFORMATION.

Sometimes it’s the part of you that says:

NO.

That isn’t right.
That isn’t fair.
That isn’t how you treat someone.
That isn’t how you treat an animal.
That isn’t how you treat ME.

Women have been taught for generations to swallow that voice.

Be nice.
Don’t make a scene.
Don’t be difficult.
Don’t make anyone uncomfortable.

But if I’d swallowed my rage last night, who would it have affected?

Him?

Or ME?

There’s a difference between using anger to harm and allowing anger to give you the courage to SPEAK.

So maybe the next time something inside you screams THIS IS NOT OKAY, you don’t need to immediately calm it down.

Maybe you need to LISTEN.

🔥 Stop swallowing your rage just to make the world around you more comfortable.

Some of it was meant to become your voice.

BECAUSE SOCIAL MEDIA HAS ENOUGH FAKE BULLSH*T… 😂❤️

And you know I like to keep it real around here.

Yesterday morning, around 8am, I was walking Luna… and I cried.

Not one delicate little tear. 😂
I cried the whole damned walk.

I’m not going to get into why — part of it isn’t mine to share — but suffice it to say, I had some feelings coming up.

And when something hurts and my body says, this needs to come out…

I let it.

Even in public. 😂

Why not wait until I get home?

Because if I wait for a more “appropriate” time, life gets in the way. The dishes. The laundry. The to-do list. And suddenly the feeling that needed my attention has been shoved back down again.

I spent YEARS doing that.

I’m not interested in suppressing myself anymore. ❤️

And there’s physiology behind this too. Emotional crying involves our autonomic nervous system, and after intense emotional activation, crying can be accompanied by shifts toward the parasympathetic state — our settling, recovering, coming back down state.

It can change our breathing, release physical tension and leave us with that very real feeling of “ahhhhhhh.”

Does crying literally flush all the stress hormones out of your body like the internet sometimes says? Nope. 😂

But allowing ourselves to actually feel instead of constantly suppressing what’s happening inside us matters.

I value my health too much to continually tell my body that what it’s feeling is inconvenient.

And this little tear on Mocha’s face felt like such a beautiful reminder. ❤️

No, I’m not claiming he’s having an emotional breakthrough 😂 — horses’ eyes water for all kinds of physical reasons.

But I love the metaphor:

Bodies release.
Bodies communicate.
Bodies don’t care whether it’s a convenient time.

Maybe we could learn something from that.

So next time the tears come…

Maybe don’t immediately wipe them away, apologize, distract yourself or say NOT NOW.

Let them come. ❤️

Tears are normal. Tears are allowed. And you don’t always have to hold it all together.

Emotions aren’t the problem. ❤️
It’s what we do with them that can get us into trouble.

In this reel, I’m sharing my simple 3-step process for managing emotions — not suppressing them, bypassing them, or letting them take over the whole damn show. 😂

✨ Feel it.
✨ Understand it.
✨ Decide what you want to do with it.

Because every emotion carries information.

The goal isn’t to never feel angry, hurt, jealous, frustrated, scared or overwhelmed.

The goal is to be able to feel what you feel without automatically becoming what you feel.

When we can create that little bit of space between the emotion and our response, we get our CHOICE back. ❤️

And THAT is emotional regulation.

Feel it. Listen to it. Learn from it.
Then decide what happens next. ✨

MORAL OF THE STORY: BE WILLING TO SUCK AT SOMETHING. 😂❤️

Last night I found myself in Waterloo, at a time I’m basically NEVER there, doing something helpful for someone else.

Convenient? Nope. 😂
In alignment? 💯 Yep.

And I talk about this with my clients all the time:

Find the opportunity. Find the gold.

Not by mind-fu***ng yourself into “THIS IS GREAT! I’M TOTALLY FINE!!!” when you’re actually miserable. 😂

But by saying:

This isn’t what I would have chosen… but I’m here. So where’s the gold?

Last night, the gold started with ice cream with Ruby and my sister instead of sitting around scrolling.

Then I heard live music nearby…

Obviously we investigated. 😂

And found an amazing band AND PEOPLE SWING DANCING. 💃

We watched and talked about coming back to try it another time…

But WHY NOT NOW?!

Then this lovely young gentleman walked over and asked if any of us wanted to learn.

“YES!! ME!! I DO!!” 😂🙋‍♀️

He held out his hand and led me onto the dance floor — at which point I informed him that the last man who offered me his hand like that led me to the summit of an active volcano in Patagonia. 😂🌋

Thankfully, this adventure required less cardio.

And then something cool happened…

When I stopped THINKING, relaxed, got out of my head and let my body follow his…

I GOT IT.

Not well. 😂 But enough to have an absolute blast.

And afterward, I was so damn proud of myself.

Not because I was good at it.

Because I was willing to suck at it.

In public. In front of people.

I was willing to be a beginner. To get it wrong. To laugh. To learn. To TRY.

And because I was willing to suck at something, I got an experience I never would have had otherwise.

I ended up somewhere I hadn’t planned to be…

Looked for the gold…

Heard the music…

Followed it…

And said YES when someone offered me their hand and some guidance. ❤️

So that’s today’s reminder:

Be willing to suck at something every once in a while.

You might look ridiculous.
You might get it wrong.

You might also have a whole lot of fu***ng fun. 💃❤️✨

TRY NEW THINGS. 🔥 (Part 2! Lol)

Last week it was shooting guns. 😂
Tonight it was… SWING DANCING. 💃🏼

And the funniest part? I had absolutely ZERO intention of swing dancing tonight.

Like… none. 😂

It just sort of happened.

And it was SO. MUCH. FUN.

I think this might be one of my favourite things about this season of my life — saying yes to things I wouldn’t normally do. Being willing to be a beginner. Being willing to look a little ridiculous. 😂 Being willing to walk into something without knowing exactly what I’m doing.

Because you just never know what’s waiting for you on the other side of “sure, why not?”

New people.
New experiences.
New parts of yourself.
New things you had NO IDEA you would love.

And maybe that’s part of what keeps us feeling ALIVE.

Not having everything figured out.
Not always doing what’s comfortable or familiar.
But staying curious enough to let life surprise you.

Last week taught me I’m a girl who likes shooting guns.

Tonight, I learned that apparently I’m a girl who likes swing dancing. 😂💃🏼

Who knows what next week holds!

And THAT is kind of the point. ❤️

Go try something new. Even better… leave a little room for something new to find YOU. ✨

We spend so much time trying to get through the hard parts that sometimes we forget to look around while we’re in them.
