I think so many women know this feeling.
Looking back at an old version of yourself and feeling both things at once…
“Holy s**t, I did that.”
And also…
“I miss her.”
“I don’t look like that anymore.”
“I don’t know if I could do that now.”
And both get to be here.
The pride.
The grief.
The gratitude.
The tenderness.
Because sometimes we aren’t just grieving who we used to be.
We’re finally seeing what that version of us had to carry.
Maybe she was proving.
Maybe she was protecting.
Maybe she was surviving.
Maybe she was using strength as the only way she knew how to feel strong.
And that doesn’t make it wrong.
It makes it wise.
That version of you found a way through.
And now, with more awareness, more wisdom, more boundaries, and more truth…
you get to carry that strength differently.
Not from force.
Not from proving.
But from a deeper relationship with yourself.
So before you wish you were her again…
Pause
Feel
Notice
What does your body remember?
What wisdom did she earn?
What if you don’t need to go back to her…
Because she got you here?
You are still that powerful.
You just get to use that power differently now.
If this speaks to you, I’d love to invite you into my free Facebook group: The Movement Mirror for Women.
It’s a space where we use movement as a mirror to listen to our bodies, move into a new mindset, and support ourselves through the transitions and identity shifts of womanhood.
