Connected Healing Acupuncture

Connected Healing Acupuncture “Sometimes we treat the root, sometimes the branch, sometimes the root and branch simultaneously.” My name is Kristin Murray, Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac.)

and sole proprietor of Connected Healing Acupuncture. I was born and raised in Creighton, Saskatchewan. I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, yoga, snow shoeing and spending time at the family cabin. After graduating high school, I moved to Saskatoon to pursue studies and a career as an X-Ray Technologist. For the next 20 years I worked in healthcare serving radiology departments in both Saskatoon and Fl

in Flon, while adding mammography and CT training to my resume. I have always had a passion for holistic approaches to treatment and care, so after two decades working in Western Medicine I made the decision to pursue Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture views the body as a whole, connecting the mind, body, and spirit to work together in harmony. If there is imbalance in one area it will cause disharmony within the entire system, resulting in the appearance of symptoms and potential disease. I spent 3 years studying Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Hua Xia Acupuncture College in Winnipeg, where I received my diploma. I am excited to be back in the North and bring Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to Flin Flon, Creighton, and surrounding areas. My goal as an Acupuncturist is to work collaboratively with my patients to address their holistic needs, treat the root cause of their ailments, eliminate symptoms, and prevent potential disease. In doing so I hope to give my clients the quality of life they desire so they can do the things in life that bring them joy. My passion is centered around helping those with chronic pain, women’s health, mental health, and digestive issues, however my practice is not limited to these conditions. I welcome any questions you may have regarding acupuncture treatments and how they may benefit you.

🍂 HELLO SEPTEMBER! 🍂

With the BER months upon us, the crisp feel of fall in the air, and routines getting back underway, Connected Healing Acupuncture is making PAIN AWARENESS the theme for September.

As the temperatures drop and the cooler weather arrives, some people may notice an increase in aches, stiffness, and pain—especially those living with arthritis or chronic pain.

A special thank you to Sam at Forever Roam Massage for recommending my services and helping spread the word about Connected Healing Acupuncture! ❤️

Throughout September, I’ll be sharing more about the services I offer and how acupuncture may help support pain management, along with highlighting some of the most commonly used acupuncture points for pain in my Acupuncture Point of the Week series.

Stay tuned throughout the month for helpful information, acupuncture education, and ways acupuncture may be able to support you through the changing season. 🌿

Let’s make September about understanding pain, supporting your body, and finding ways to move through fall feeling your best. 🍂🍁

🌿 LOOKING FOR ANOTHER OPTION FOR RELIEF? 🌿

Things have been incredibly busy at Forever Roam Massage Therapy, and while I am so grateful to have such a full schedule, I also know that pain and discomfort don’t exactly wait patiently for an appointment. 💛

I wanted to shine a spotlight on another local practitioner and another treatment option available right here in Flin Flon:

✨ CONNECTED HEALING ACUPUNCTURE ✨
Kristin Murray, Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.)

So… what exactly IS acupuncture?

If you’ve never tried it, acupuncture can sound a little intimidating. But these aren’t the same type of needles you picture when you think about getting blood drawn or having an injection.

Acupuncture is a practice originating in Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been used for thousands of years. It involves placing extremely thin, sterile needles at carefully selected points on the body.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, treatment is based on looking at the body as a whole and identifying patterns of imbalance rather than focusing only on the area where you’re experiencing symptoms.

From a modern scientific perspective, researchers believe acupuncture may affect the nervous system, the way the brain processes pain, and the tissues around where the needles are placed. We still don’t completely understand every mechanism involved, but acupuncture has been studied extensively and has evidence supporting its use for certain types of pain.

People commonly explore acupuncture for concerns such as:

🌿 Back & neck pain
🌿 Joint and muscular pain
🌿 Headaches
🌿 Chronic or persistent pain
🌿 Muscle tension
🌿 Stress and general wellness

And acupuncture doesn’t necessarily mean needles alone!

Kristin also offers:

⚡ Electro-acupuncture – A small, controlled electrical current is applied between acupuncture needles to provide additional stimulation.

🔥 Cupping – Cups create suction against the skin and soft tissues. If you’ve ever seen those perfectly round marks after cupping, that’s where they come from!

✨ Gua Sha – A smooth-edged tool is moved along the skin as a form of traditional therapeutic bodywork.

One of the things I love about having different practitioners in our community is that we don’t all have to do the same thing. Massage may work wonderfully for one person, acupuncture may be another person’s missing puzzle piece, and sometimes having different options available is exactly what someone needs.

So if you’ve been waiting to get in for a massage, you’re dealing with ongoing discomfort, or you’ve simply been curious about acupuncture, this might be a great opportunity to explore something different.

I’ve welcomed quite a few new clients recently, and the question I hear most often is, “How often should I come for acupuncture?”

The answer depends on your individual goals and concerns, but I wanted to share some general guidelines about how acupuncture works and why treatment frequency can play an important role in achieving lasting results.✨
