After much consideration and consultation with our Elders and family members, we have decided to proceed with the Giikendamok Anishinaabemowin Gathering at the Nanicost Grounds this week.

While the gathering will continue as planned, some adjustments have been made out of respect for the Yerxa family and the community of Couchiching First Nation as they mourn the loss of a dear family member and beloved Anishinaabe Elder.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by this respected Knowledge Keeper. Miigwech for your understanding as we come together in a spirit of respect, remembrance, and community.
