Yeehaw! 🤠🐴

As part of Seniors Week, our residents saddled up and headed to the Dow Centennial Centre for a wonderful Seniors Tea with a fun cowboy theme! From western décor to great company, it was an afternoon filled with laughter, conversation, and community spirit.

A big thank you to the organizers for creating such a welcoming event and giving our residents the opportunity to celebrate Seniors Week in style. We had a rootin’ tootin’ good time! 🌵⭐

🌭🔥 Exciting Fundraiser Alert!🔥🌭

We’re excited to launch our Calahoo Meats Spring Fundraiser in support of the Rivercrest Recreation Department! By purchasing delicious (and VERY affordable) Calahoo Meats products, a portion of every sale goes directly toward enhancing recreational programs and activities for our residents.

📅 Order Dates: June 1–16
📍 Order forms are available at the front office.
➡️You can also place your order by messaging us and e-transferring funds. Information provided in the poster.

📦 Pickup Date: July 2 at Rivercrest (pickup time to be announced).

Whether you’re stocking up for summer BBQs or filling your freezer, every purchase helps create meaningful experiences for our residents.

Everyone, meet Seamore! 🐐💙

Our residents were thrilled to spend time with this adorable baby goat. There were plenty of smiles, cuddles, and laughter as Seamore made his way around Rivercrest.

A huge thank you to the wonderful community member who brought him in to visit. He certainly stole a few hearts! 🥰

What a wildly unforgettable day at Rivercrest! 🦜🐍🦎🐢

Residents had the opportunity to meet and interact with some incredible animals brought by Zoo 2 U Ltd today, including a python, chinchilla, skinny pig, iguana, bearded dragon, silky hen, tortoise, macaw, and an eclectus parrot! There were smiles, laughter, curiosity, and even a few brave moments as residents stepped outside of their comfort zones to try something completely new.

One resident shared, “This is a once in a lifetime thing,” and we couldn’t agree more. It was a beautiful reminder that adventure, discovery, and courage don’t have an age limit. Whether it was holding a snake for the very first time or gently petting an unfamiliar animal, residents showed that it’s never too late to face fears and create new memories.

A huge thank you to Ross Creek Denture Clinic for generously sponsoring today’s zoo visit and helping make such a meaningful experience possible for our residents! Your support brought so many smiles. ☺️

☕🤎 We’re hosting a Caregiver Café at Rivercrest on June 10th!

This is a relaxed, welcoming space for caregivers to drop in, enjoy a coffee, and connect with others who understand the caregiving journey. Whether you stay for five minutes or the full hour, all caregivers in the Fort Saskatchewan area are welcome.

Please note: this is not a formal support group or counselling program — just a casual opportunity to meet, chat, share experiences, or simply sit with people who “get it.”

We hope this can be a small moment of connection, support, and community for those who spend so much time caring for others. 🤎

A heartfelt thank you to Kuhlmann's Market Gardens and Greenhouses Ltd. for their incredible generosity and hospitality! 🌸🌿

Our residents had such a wonderful time visiting the greenhouse to pick out flowers for our courtyard, and we are so incredibly grateful that Kuhlmann’s generously donated all the flowers picked out! They also created such a lovely space for us to enjoy a picnic lunch!

Your kindness will help create a beautiful outdoor area where residents can gather, relax, and enjoy company in the sunshine. ☀️🌷

Today was a bittersweet day at Rivercrest as we said goodbye to our five sweet ducklings and wished them a wonderful life on the farm! 🦆💛

Over the past few weeks, residents had the special opportunity to experience the entire journey — from incubating and hatching to watching these fluffy little friends grow bigger each day. The ducklings brought so much joy, laughter, and excitement to our home, and it was truly heartwarming to see the smiles they created along the way.

We’ll miss their tiny waddles and happy peeps, but we’re so grateful for the memories made together! 🌾✨

Behind every one of our residents is a lifetime of beautiful stories — of families raised, memories created, challenges overcome, and endless love shared. These women are truly goddesses in their own way: graceful, resilient, wise, and deeply inspiring. ✨

We are so honoured to hear their stories, learn from their lives, and celebrate the love they continue to bring to those around them every day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing women who have shaped generations with their hearts. 💖
