Time - Vanilla has a very long growth time, it can take 4 years until a vine is ready to grow a pod. The pod can then take up to 8 months to grow followed up by another 8 month curing time.

Vanilla is the most labour intensive crop in the world. The vanilla aromas and flavors we know and love don’t reveal themselves until the crop is cured and dried. That means you may have a full year of work before you get to smell the beautiful real Vanilla scent so we make smelling true Vanilla easy with Mālō.

Vanilla flowers over a 2 month period once per year. In that 2 month period the flower only has 24 to 48 hours to be germinated. This is a small part of the reason why real Vanilla is so exotic 😊
