Summer starts tomorrow!

For some women, that brings excitement.
For others, it can bring a quiet sense of frustration because they're already anticipating feeling tired, uncomfortable in their clothes, or promising themselves they'll get back on track later.

What if this summer felt different?

More energy for the things you enjoy. Whether that's time with grandchildren, gardening, travelling, hiking, golfing, volunteering, kayaking, shopping, or simply getting through a busy day without feeling wiped out.

That's one of the reasons I created the Feel Light Mind & Body program.

Something I've noticed over the past 5 years since creating the Feel Light Mind & Body program… is that women join for different reasons.

One woman may have a weight-loss goal she's excited about.
Another may be thrilled if she simply maintains her weight through the summer.
Someone else may be more focused on having more energy, feeling comfortable in her clothes, being more active, or not ending the summer feeling like she has to start over again.

What I find interesting is that even though their goals are different, they often want many of the same things: enjoy the ice cream and move on, go on vacation without abandoning themselves, and feel good when September arrives instead of wondering where the summer went. They want to build trust with themselves again.

That's why we focus so much on small wins inside the program. Not because small wins are exciting, but because they add up. They change how you experience your days, your weeks, and eventually your seasons.

And before long, you're becoming the kind of woman who knows how to care for herself through all of them.

So excited to be spending some much-anticipated time with my daughter in Toronto. ❤️

Here’s a little travel reminder...

If the scale happens to be up after a trip, that includes flights, it doesn't automatically mean you've gained fat.

Flying can leave us dehydrated, retaining water, sleeping less, and sitting more than usual. All of those can temporarily affect how we feel and what the scale says.

That's one reason I try to pay attention to more than just a number. How's my energy? Am I hydrated? Have I moved my body? Did I get enough sleep?

The goal isn't to come home from a trip feeling guilty. The goal is to enjoy the experience and then get right back to the habits that help you feel your best.

Have you picked a strawberry yet? They scream SUMMER to me! 🍓 🍓
Ok, here’s my favourite benefit of having a herbicide-free lawn. It’s now peppered with these sweet and juicy wild strawberries that don’t come with fungicides, soil fumigants, or insecticides.

🤔 Does that balance out the drawbacks of having weeds?

BTW I still eat cultivated strawberries, but I choose organic as much as possible. It won’t be long until the cultivated are ready. Can’t wait!

Have you ever noticed how much time and energy can be spent thinking about weight? Not necessarily trying to lose it... just thinking about it.

Most women don't realize how much mental space this can take up because it's become so normal.
I've worked with women who wanted to lose weight, but what they were really craving was relief. Relief from constantly thinking about food, frustration of starting over, or feeling like their weight was taking up more space in their thoughts than they wanted it to.

Imagine what could change if that energy was redirected toward living your life instead.
More presence at family gatherings, confidence in photos, enjoyment at the beach, on vacation, or out for dinner with friends. More energy for the things that matter most to you.

That's one of the reasons I love the work we do inside the Feel Light Mind & Body program. The goal isn't simply to lose weight. It's to help you feel lighter physically, mentally, and emotionally so you can spend less time managing your weight and more time enjoying your life.
