Remarkable things happening in our skies above🌗💫☄️🌏🌞

AUGUST 12, 2026: THREE CELESTIAL EVENTS COME TOGETHER WITHIN ONE REMARKABLE DAY.

The sky has a rare sequence planned for August 12, 2026.

Before sunrise, six planets; Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, will appear spread along the ecliptic. This is a line-of-sight alignment, not the planets physically lining up in space, and several of them will require binoculars or a telescope to see clearly.

Later, the Moon will pass between Earth and the Sun, producing a total solar eclipse along a narrow path through Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia and Portugal. Across parts of the United States, the eclipse will be partial.

Then, overnight August 12–13, the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak. The nearly new Moon means little moonlight will interfere with the meteor display, creating especially dark conditions for skywatchers.

Three different events. Three different pieces of astronomy. One extraordinary date.

For the solar eclipse, remember: never look directly at the Sun without proper solar viewing protection.

Save August 12–13, this is a stretch of sky worth remembering.
