Life is sweeter when it’s shared! At Bennett Village, our monthly activity calendar is designed to offer residents a variety of opportunities to stay active, connect with friends, explore new interests, and simply enjoy time together.

From social gatherings and creative activities to outings, special events, and seasonal celebrations, there's always something happening within our community.

Our recent Lemonade Social was a perfect example! Residents gathered to enjoy sweet treats, spend time together, and do some creative colouring.

NOW LOOKING FOR PURSE DONATIONS!

Looking for your next favorite accessory?

Mark your calendar for the Purse & Accessory Sale on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at St. Andrew's Church in Georgetown. Hosted by , this community fundraiser features a wonderful selection of new and previously loved purses and accessories, with all proceeds supporting Bennett Village and the future construction of our new long-term care home.

We're SO grateful to Val Leachman and Jo-Anne from The Way We Were for leading this initiative and to St. Andrew's Church for generously providing the space for this special event. It’s generous community support like this that helps us reach our fundraiser goals - together, we're building something meaningful for older adults in our community.

How can you help? Donations of purses and accessories are currently being accepted (at The Way We Were 98 Main Street South, downtown Georgetown and St. Andrew’s Church 89 Mountainview Road, Georgetown) before the big event (so maybe this is a good excuse for a closet clean out this weekend!)

Are you an organized, people-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? Bennett Village is hiring a Human Resource Scheduling Coordinator to join our growing team!

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the people behind exceptional resident care while helping shape the future of a growing, community-based organization.

What you'll be responsible for:
🔹Staff scheduling and HR coordination
🔹Recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
🔹Employee relations and team support
🔹Payroll preparation and leave tracking
🔹HR compliance, records, and policy administration
🔹Performance review and training coordination

📍 Full-time, on-site position in Georgetown

We're looking for someone who brings:
🔹Experience with staff scheduling and HR software systems
🔹Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
🔹Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
🔹A background in human resources or business administration

Last weekend at the , author Catherine Little .beyond.bedtime returned to the to share her book, Anne of the Library-on-the-Hill, inspired by the beloved classic Anne of Green Gables. Children and community members gathered to hear Catherine’s story and celebrated the unveiling of a new Anne of Green Gables-inspired creation by one of our very own resident artists, William. William’s artistic talent has reached far beyond Bennett Village with his artwork displayed throughout our community and in other countries!

The arts have always been an important part of life at Bennett Village. Whether through painting, music, literature, or creative expression these experiences encourage connection, inspire conversation, and show the value of continued learning and sharing throughout every stage of life.

Congratulations William on another wonderful creation, and thank you to everyone who helped make this special event possible!

For more than 25 years, Bennett Village has been committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care for older adults in Halton Hills.

As the needs of our community continue to grow, so does our vision.

Over the coming weeks and months, we'll be sharing more about the future of Bennett Village and the exciting plans for our new Bennett Centre Long-Term Care Home. This project will allow us to welcome more residents, expand specialized care, and continue providing the dignity, compassion and sense of community that have always been at the heart of who we are.

This isn't just about a new building. It's about creating more opportunities for older adults to receive exceptional care close to the people and community they know and love.

There’s something about lunch outside that makes an ordinary Wednesday feel extra special.

When the weather cooperates, our residents head outdoors for a weekly BBQ lunch at Bennett Centre. It’s nothing fancy, and that’s exactly what we love about it. Good food, some fresh air, conversation with friends, and a chance to enjoy these beautiful summer days together.

Because creating a great place to live isn’t only about the big celebrations and special events. It’s also about finding little ways to bring enjoyment, connection and choice into everyday life.

While many people are enjoying the Civic Holiday with family, friends, or a well-deserved day off, it’s business as usual at Bennett Village (just as it’s supposed to be).

Long-term care doesn’t pause for weekends or holidays. Our residents still need meals prepared, medications administered, activities to enjoy, and compassionate care around the clock. So today, just like every day of the year, our dedicated nurses, PSWs, recreation team, dietary staff, housekeeping, maintenance, environmental services, administration, and many others are here ensuring life at Bennett continues with the same warmth, dignity, and exceptional care our residents count on.

To every team member spending part of their long weekend caring for others, we thank you. Your commitment allows our residents to enjoy holidays with comfort, connection, and peace of mind, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
