Over the weekend I met my neighbor's friends they were out meeting Journey and Clovy. We started chatting and I learned one of them is going through a divorce and having a tough time. She was drawn to the horses and after about half an hour she smiled and said I feel seen for the first time....I will never forget the moment she realized that she was worth being seen and she was validated in her feelings. 💗💗 Horse's are magical ✨️
One of the things we love most about horses is that they reveal the parts of ourselves that we simply cannot hide.
They're not responding to our words nearly as much as they're responding to our state of being.
They immediately notice the tension behind the smile. They feel the grief behind the smile, the fear that's hidden inside confidence, and the exhaustion people carry underneath achievement.
It's not because they're trying to expose us. They're responding to what is truly present.
That may be one of the reasons being around horses feels so healing, but also uncomfortable. Some people feel like the horse can look through them and to the other side.
But horses are not judging us. They respond to congruence.
It's as if they're asking:
"Are you truly here?"
"Are you truly where your feet are?"
"Are you truly feeling what you're saying?"
"Is your mind in agreement with your heart?"
