Unless you have literal doctor’s orders not to move (i.e., complete bed rest), you can do some form of exercise.

Chances are, the real problem isn’t your body—it’s your thinking about what exercise is or should be.

Because when movement can improve everything from mental health and heart health to cancer outcomes and the quality of your relationships—as well as reduce all-cause mortality—fighting for reasons not to engage is foolish.

We hear the arguments all the time:
Not enough time. Not enough money. Too self-conscious. This injury. That limitation.

But truly, none of them hold up.

If you’re not on bed rest and you can go about your day, you can—and should—move.

You don’t need a ton of time or money to start.
You don’t need a gym membership (though if you want one, we’ve got you 😉).

What you do need is belief:
• That you can.
• That more than nothing matters.
• That it all adds up.
• And that the second-best time to start is always today.

Still don’t believe us? Feeling stuck?

Reach out for a free lifestyle audit. We’ll look at your schedule with you and help you fit fitness into real life.

Your health matters.
Let’s live like it 👊🏻

Did you know that 23% of New Year’s resolutions fail after the FIRST WEEK?! Upwards of 35% by the end of the month.

There are many reasons why we might abandon our goals - but here’s one often overlooked:

Obstacles.

Eventually something is going to arise in your life that will GET.IN.THE.WAY of you executing your initial plan.

Do you have a plan for when the plan fails?

Sick kids, bad weather, poor sleep, relational difficulties… aka life. It’s going to happen, plan for it.

Consider your goal(s).
Consider the obstacles that could arise.
Consider how you can navigate them - in an imperfectly, more-than-nothing-kind of way - so that you can continue making progress, even if small.

If fitness is a goal for you in 2025, consider that joining a group culture where one’s desired behaviour is the norm has been shown to increase success.

At Humble, we are a community of like-minded individuals who are striving to be better. Come join us and see your goals come to life!

We’ve all heard the terrible stories of someone who appeared to be in perfect health, only to find out they had advanced stage cancer.

What our health appears to be, and what it truly is, are not always congruent.*

If you are inactive you are NOT healthy.

Much like a beautiful house may disguise mold or water damage to the untrained eye, we can appear healthy in a sedentary lifestyle for a time. However, the disrepair and dysfunction WILL eventually reveal itself. And while it often seems to come suddenly and “out of nowhere,” most often it has been years in the making.

Research now shows that many of the conditions widely associated with late-stage life are NOT a result of aging, but rather are lifestyle derived. In fact, cognitive decline in old age can now be traced back to metabolic health in one’s 30s, 40s and 50s, as can Type 2 diabetes and certain cancers.

People with low strength are at a 30% greater risk of dying from all-cause mortality.

Your excuses for not exercising pale in comparison to the reasons why you should—REGARDLESS OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

Stop fooling yourself.
Stop making excuses.
Your longevity, and quality of life, depend on it.

*This is the key reason why CrossFit methodology promotes a scored workout. Fitness IS a measurable health outcome. We score, i.e. measure our fitness, to accumulate data that allows us to track our health. Better physical fitness IS better health.

T’is the season…

1️⃣ Indulgence does not have to mean OVERINDULGENCE. You CAN celebrate and not go off the rails. A key way to do this is to simply consider what amount of festive food/drink you require to feel like you truly celebrated (it’s probably less than you usually partake in). Once you’ve established this it’s onto #2! ⬇️

2️⃣ We all know the saying—“if you fail to plan, you plan to FAIL”. If you do have goals, you need to consider what obstacles might get in your way—the friend who always wants you to do one more shot? Your aunt’s famous cookies? Your own social anxiety? How could you strategize around these so you can feel good—physically, mentally and emotionally—and successful, the next day?

3️⃣ Sometimes, “even the best-laid plans…go awry.” If you do mess up, simply do the “next right thing.” Drink a glass of water, go for a walk, eat some protein and veggies. You don’t have to throw in the towel or try to overcorrect with a 75 Hard. Imagine you hit black ice. Most often, THE WORST THING one can do is to react by slamming the brakes or cranking on the steering wheel. Rather, gentle corrections work best to keep you on the road. It’s much the same when it comes to our health and fitness “slip ups.”

4️⃣ MOVE YOUR BODY. It’s more than burning off excess calories. It aids digestion, regulates blood sugar and most importantly helps you reinforce your identity as a person who prioritizes their health—even when it’s inconvenient*. Continuing to maintain your movement practice (or starting one!) during the holidays will set you up for success in 2025.

*exercise is considered a keystone habit. When one regularly exercises, they tend to make better, more positive decisions in life overall.

Imagine wanting to travel in your retirement but lacking the health and fitness required to truly enjoy it?—Not Sharon!

Our favourite snowbird is about to take flight for the winter and she’s ready for it. How? When Sharon’s not abroad she’s consistently (often 5x a week!) pursuing her fitness at Humble.

She recently achieved 300 classes and she is a testament to consistency paying off ⭐️⭐️⭐️

In less than a year Sharon has dramatically improved her strength and added 30lbs to her deadlift and 20lbs to her overhead press (!). But that’s not all! Her cardio has made great gains too 😎 She rows 500m at an enviable pace, and no longer shies away from impact doing full burpees, skipping and box jumps.

Muscles ✅
Bone density ✅
Cardiovascular fitness ✅
Vacation ready ✅

Your fitness is data. It reveals your health and Sharon is only getting fitter, better, healthier.

We can’t wait to see what she achieves when she’s back in the spring!

Want to be awesome like Sharon? Join us today 💪🏻

1⭐️⭐️⭐️ Classes!

CONSISTENCY

It’s the number 1 variable to success.
Probably because it’s the place most people fail— but not Rachel.

It’s not like the last 6 years haven’t given her plenty of opportunity to say “no.”
It’s just that she didn’t.

Rachel’s super power is saying yes, showing up, and doing more-than-nothing regardless of what’s on her plate.

Through hard times, injuries, career changes and more, Rachel has consistently said “yes” to her fitness. As a result, those yeses have compounded and she has achieved great progress with her gymnastics skills like getting her first pull ups and increasing volume in toes-to-bar and rocking out burpees.

There’s no secret to getting fit. No magic program or diet. But there is a formula and Rachel’s figured it out:

Show up
Do the work
Repeat (ad infinitum)

If you need fitspo, look no further. The REAL examples to follow are the Rachel’s.

Get people like Rachel in your community and corner, follow her example, and you’ll be better for it. We certainly are.

Congrats on your first 1000, 🥳

We are grateful for you!

One decision at a time.

Since 2020 (a time when so many abandoned fitness) Sandy has averaged 225 workouts a year. Sandy is a BUSY lady. YET, She shows up more often than not and her incredible commitment and consistency are paying off. We are SO excited to see what the future holds in store for this fit individual.
