Grey doesn't always need to be covered. 🤍

This beautiful head of hair belongs to my mom. 😊

Instead of fighting her natural silver, we're working with it. The goal is to create softness and dimension while allowing her grey to become part of the overall look, rather than something that needs to be hidden every few weeks.

For her, that means a more natural result, softer grow-out, and colour that can evolve with her instead of constantly working against what's naturally happening.

Grey blending isn't one specific formula or technique. It looks different for everyone depending on how much grey you have, where it grows, your natural colour, your hair health, and how much maintenance actually fits your life.

And that's really the point.

I see some version of this on my consultation forms all the time...

“I'm not really sure what I want.”

And that's completely okay. 💙

You don't need to know whether you need highlights, lowlights, grey blending, a gloss, a treatment... or something completely different. You don't need to know all the hairdresser words. 😆

What I really want to know is what's happening with your hair right now.

What's frustrating you?
What do you still love about it?
How much time do you actually want to spend on your hair?

We have spent a lot of time talking about making space lately.

This summer, I have been choosing exactly that.

Making space for adventure.
For quiet moments.
For the people I love.
For simply being present.

I am grateful for another week to unplug, slow down, and soak up this beautiful season.

The salon will be here when I return. The emails, the messages, and the to-do lists will still be waiting.

But summer doesn't last forever.

Sometimes it's hard to put into words what I hope every guest feels when they walk through the doors of Kalia.

Receiving this heartfelt note, along with the beautiful orchid she gifted me, reminded me that what we share is about so much more than hair. 🌿

Creating a space where people feel welcomed, cared for, and truly seen has always been at the heart of Kalia. Knowing that someone left feeling a sense of belonging is the greatest compliment I could ever receive.
