Your gut lining is semi-permeable to allow small molecules of nutrients to pass through. When we eat highly processed foods and additives that destroy the Gut, larger gateways are made allowing larger molecules to pass through. These molecules are then presented to your immune system which sees these molecules as foreign and thinks its under attack. Your immune system makes chemical memories of these attackers, so it can flood the Gut with inflammation next time it encounters it. For this reason people with leaky Gut often develop new allergies or food intolerances to the foods the eat the most.

Digestion plays a huge role in our gut health, and the way we eat and live has a great impact. Here are some simple tips to follow to help improve yours!

🌿Digestion starts in the mouth so chewing your food for 20-30 seconds before swallowing is key
🌿Eating enough fiber is important to keep your food moving through the intestinal tract
🌿Excersize increases blood flow to your organs and engages muscles in your GI tract to help mood food along.
🌿Eating warm foods like soups and cooked vegetables helps digestive enzymes break down foods properly
🌿Cortisol from stress moves blood away from the stomach, so managing
stress is key for optimal digestion.
🌿Drinking water helps by dissolving fats and soluble fiber and helps food pass through your intestines. Make sure not to drink water with your meals as this dilutes your digestive juices.

This is 37! Most of the time I still feel like I'm 25, so I have a hard time comprehending I am quickly approaching 40! I don't mind getting older, I've enjoyed my thirties much more than my twenties. I've learned so much about myself, take less bu****it and have realized what truly is important. I'm the healthiest I've ever been and still continuing to find better ways to take care of my body! I'm looking forward to where this year takes me 🥂
