The impossible standard…
Work a 9–5. Plan the meals. Make the meals. Pack the lunches. Drop-off. Pick-up. Get them to practice, to lessons, to the birthday party you forgot was today.
Climb the ladder at work while you’re at it. Be a good friend. A good daughter. A good partner.
Nobody put that list anywhere official.
Nobody sat you down and said “this is the standard now.” You just woke up one day already living inside it.
That’s the work no one sees. No performance review, no one clapping, no line on a résumé. Just done again, quietly, tomorrow.
And somewhere in that list, you were supposed to fit yourself too but there was never a slot left for that.
Tag a mom who’s carrying all of this and doesn’t hear it enough: you’re doing more than anyone sees. 🤍
