Patient care is rarely just the appointment. 😅

Behind the scenes, there are charts to complete, reports to write, exercises to prescribe, insurers and other providers to contact - and, somewhere in the middle of it all, coffee to make ☕️.

It can feel a little like running in circles, but every task is part of keeping care organized, individualized and moving forward.

The work you don’t always see is still part of your care. 💙

Coming soon: an eight-part limited series about one clinician, one question, and our favourite rating scale 😅.

In all seriousness, we know repeated symptom check-ins can feel like a lot - especially when you’re already dealing with a post-concussion headache. We ask because those changes help us understand your response to activity and guide your treatment appropriately.

To every patient who has patiently answered, “What number is it now?” - thank you! 🙏

Concussion recovery doesn’t always follow a straight line.

It’s common to have good days and more challenging days—especially as you gradually return to exercise, work, school and everyday responsibilities. A temporary increase in symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve caused harm or lost the progress you’ve made.

Recovery timelines vary, and persistent symptoms can be influenced by several factors, including headache and migraine, neck injury, balance or vision disorders, disrupted sleep, fatigue, mood, previous health history and the demands of daily life.

If you don’t feel that you’re gradually improving, are struggling to return to your usual activities or aren’t sure how to move forward, consider seeking support from a healthcare professional experienced in concussion assessment and rehabilitation.

Recovery may have ups and downs—but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Even clinicians need a posture check sometimes. 😅 If you caught us mid-charting, you’d probably have a few corrections for us too! Here’s your friendly reminder to reset your posture, take a movement break, and practice what we preach 💙.

When we first started teaching concussion courses, we thought our role ended when the course finished.

It didn't take long to realize that the best questions came after clinicians returned to practice.

"How would you manage this patient?"
"Is my patient ready for sport?"
"Do you have an exercise progression for this?"

That's why we created the Shift Provider Membership.

Not simply as a resource library, but as an ongoing community where clinicians can continue learning, access practical treatment tools, prescribe exercise videos directly to patients, ask clinical questions, and stay connected to the latest evidence.

Our goal has always been the same: to help clinicians feel more confident in practice—because when clinicians have the right support, patients receive better care.

If you've completed our courses and have been thinking about joining the membership, we'd love to have you as part of the community.
