Fall Plant Sale for Mutual Aid

I am selling my remaining stock of pollinator plants with 100% of proceeds going towards selective open mutual aid requests for Indigenous folks in Mi'kma'ki and Tkaronto.

Each plant is $5 and you can make an order by sending me a DM or emailing [email protected]. If you're a plant person outside of Kjipuktuk that would still like to contribute funds, you can absolutely do so. Some plants are limited in numbers.

The North West Ontario Wildfires have displaced a number of First Nation communities, and several families are currently evacuated to Tkaronto and surrounding areas living in temporary housing (evacuation centers and motels, etc) after having lost their homes. I'll be sending a portion of the divided funds to the open mutual aid calls organized by on IG.

Indigenous folks are disproportionately affected by climate change brought on by settler colonialism, corporate greed and environmental violence. There is no climate crisis solution without Land Back and Indigenous sovereignty.

This article on hosrom aka verjuice with herbs for cold and flu was a fun one to write for LearningHerbs.com and I hope to hear your thoughts on it! 🍇🌿

Here's an excerpt, but be sure to click the link to read it all:

"Sharab el hosrom, which is Arabic for unripe (green) grape drink, is a non-brewed condiment commonly made in the villages of Lebanon, where it’s used as a sour flavoring for salads, such as fattoush, as well as in stews, soups, fried vegetables, and even desserts.

Hosrom or verjuice is also an antimicrobial kitchen staple that I use whenever I feel the signs of a cold coming on, such as a sore throat or sinus congestion."
