We’re finalists. 🥹❤️🌱
Nutri-3 has been selected as one of three finalists for Food & Beverage Atlantic’s Foodie’s Choice Award!
And on October 20, I’ll be taking Nutri-3 to the LIVE PITCH.
There are moments in building a business when you’re so busy doing the work that you don’t really stop to look at how far the idea has travelled.
Nutri-3 has grown one market, one sample, one customer conversation and one opportunity at a time.
There have been late nights.
Markets in the rain.
Production challenges.
Products carried from one community to another.
Hundreds and hundreds of samples.
A lot of explaining something people haven’t seen before.
A lot of learning.
And a LOT of figuring things out as we go. 😂🌱
So being selected as a finalist alongside two other Atlantic Canadian food businesses is one of those moments where I do want to stop for a second and say:
This means a lot. ❤️

And thank you Food & Beverage Atlantic for giving emerging food businesses opportunities like this to be seen, heard and tasted.

Last week, on one of the quietest Tantallon market days we've had, something lovely happened. ❤️

Some of our regular customers stopped by for one very specific reason:
“Will you be here next week? We need to stock up.”

Why does a Nutri-3 ingredient list look a little different? 👀🌱
Because we don’t believe nutrition should come from chasing just ONE thing.
Not just protein.
Not just fibre.
Not just carbohydrates.
Our formulations bring together different plant foods, including sprouted beans and lentils, grains, vegetables, fruits and seeds.
And different ingredients bring different things to the table.
🌱 Beans and lentils contribute plant protein, fibre and complex carbohydrates.
🌾 Grains contribute complex carbohydrates, fibre and protein.
🥬 Vegetables and fruits bring their own nutrients, fibre, flavours and colours.
🌻 Seeds add another layer of protein, fibre, healthy fats and nutrients.
And yes, many ingredients contribute to more than one nutritional block.
That overlap is intentional.
Because food doesn’t naturally exist in neat little boxes of “protein food,” “fibre food” and “carb food.”
Neither do our formulations.
That’s what our 3x Nutrition philosophy is really about:
Plant Protein × High Fibre × Complex Carbs
Three nutritional priority blocks working together. 🌱
And underneath all three?
Ingredient diversity.
Because sometimes the question isn’t:
“How much of ONE thing can we put into a product?”
It’s:
“How many good things can we bring together?”

Yesterday at Brewery, I had two conversations that stayed with me.

Two different customers stopped at the Nutri-3 table, tasted our products, looked through the ingredients and formulations, and started asking questions.

Both happened to be nutrition professionals. 🌱

And both loved what they discovered.
One of them even told me she wanted to introduce Nutri-3 to some of her clients. ❤️

That meant a lot.

Because so much of what goes into Nutri-3 isn't immediately visible when you first pick up a pack.

Why sprouted grains and legumes?

Why bring together such a diverse range of lentils, grains, vegetables, fruits and seeds?

Why are spices more than simply flavour in our formulations?

Why do we think about plant protein, fibre and complex carbohydrates together rather than focusing on just one nutritional number?

These are choices I have spent years researching, testing and thinking about while developing Nutri-3.

So when someone whose professional world revolves around food and nutrition stops, asks about those choices and gets genuinely excited about what we're creating, it hits differently.

Yesterday was filled with wonderful interactions across Brewery and Lunenburg.

But this was one I wanted to remember. ❤️

Because sometimes the best feedback isn't simply:
“This tastes good.”

Sometimes it's someone wanting to understand:
“Why did you make it this way?” 🌱
Ingredients chosen with purpose.

Two markets. Two communities. One very busy Saturday for Nutri-3. 😂🌱

Today, you can find us in TWO places across Nova Scotia!

📍 South Shore Oktoberfest
Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, Lunenburg
10 AM – 5 PM

I’ll be starting my morning at Brewery while my son holds down the Nutri-3 table in Lunenburg. ❤️

Then, once Brewery wraps up, I’ll be heading straight to the South Shore to join him for the rest of Oktoberfest.
Halifax → Lunenburg. 🚗🌱

“I’ve been looking for you.”
Not exactly what I expected to hear from a customer walking up to my table at Alderney. ❤️
I didn’t recognize her immediately.
Then she reminded me.
Months ago, when I was still testing a new Nutri-3 variant, she had tried our Divine Oat-Date Pudding.
Once.
And apparently, that one taste stayed with her.
She told me she had tried to find it again afterwards. She searched online, but couldn’t find Nutri-3.
Then last weekend, she walked into Alderney Market.
And there we were. 🌱
This time, Divine Oat-Date wasn’t something I was testing. It had become part of the Nutri-3 range.
She didn’t take one bag.
She took FIVE. 🥹❤️
And saved our details so she wouldn’t lose us again.
As a founder, you spend so much time wondering:
Will people remember this?
Will they want it again?
Does what I’m creating actually have a place in someone’s life?
Sometimes the answer doesn’t arrive in a survey or a spreadsheet.
Sometimes it walks back up to your market table months later and says:
“I’ve been looking for you.” ❤️🌱

This one still makes me smile. ❤️
The week before Gluten Free Fest, a customer discovered Nutri-3 at Brewery Market in Halifax.
Fast forward a week and, completely by chance, we ran into each other again at Halifax airport.
She was heading home to Toronto. I was heading to Kitchener for Nutri-3’s first Ontario event.
She couldn’t make it to the event herself, but took the details and told me she would share them with friends in Kitchener.
And then...
One of those friends actually came. 😂❤️
She came specifically because her friend had told her about Nutri-3, tasted the products and left with 3 packs.
A farmers’ market in Halifax.
A chance meeting at an airport.
A customer heading home to Toronto.
A friend in Kitchener.
And three packs of Nutri-3. 🌱
Growing a brand can sometimes feel like pushing something forward inch by inch.
And then something like this happens and reminds you that sometimes your customers are quietly helping carry it forward too.
That means more than they probably realize. ❤️

Nutrition may get their attention.
Taste is what makes them reach for the next bite. 😋
We met this lovely family at Spryfield, and sampling quickly turned into a bit of a family negotiation. 😂
One of the girls discovered Nutri-3... and suddenly every new sample became VERY difficult to share.
Mum could have a bite.
Everyone else could have a bite.
But apparently the rest belonged to her. 😂❤️
The family eventually found a solution:
They took 5 packs home. 🌱
Moments like these make us smile because nutritious food doesn't have to feel like the food you're supposed to eat.
It can simply be food you really want another bite of.
