Yesterday was one of those days that perfectly captured what building a business often feels like.

I spent the day in Charlottetown attending the FBA Supply Chain Showcase, meeting people, learning about manufacturing, supply chains, and what it takes to scale a food business.

At the same time, we had planned to be at Fairview Farmers Market.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected personal situation, we weren’t able to make it there.

As I drove home last night, I found myself reflecting on something.

When most people think about growth, they think about more customers, more markets, and more opportunities.

What I’m discovering is that growth also brings more moving pieces, more decisions, and sometimes unexpected challenges.

And that’s okay.

Yesterday wasn’t perfect.

But it was a reminder that building something meaningful rarely follows a perfectly planned schedule.

I’m grateful for the conversations, the learning, and the people who continue to support Nutri-3 as we figure out the next stage of the journey.

And Fairview, we’ll be back.

We had planned to be at Fairview Farmers Market today and were looking forward to reconnecting with the community.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected personal situation, we weren’t able to attend as planned.

We’re sorry to anyone who stopped by hoping to find us.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll make it up to the Fairview community soon.

People often imagine growth as a big milestone.
For small food brands, growth usually looks a lot less glamorous.
More inventory.
More planning.
More logistics.
More market prep.
And because Nutri-3 is still a very small operation, most of those jobs still land on one desk.
This week we’re preparing for two seasonal markets, attending a supply chain showcase, and getting ready for another busy market weekend.
A lot of moving pieces.

The more people I meet, the harder it becomes to define “good food” with one simple rule.

This week started with a question about how differently people experience food.

And after another weekend of conversations at markets, I find myself thinking about that even more.

Because every person brings a different reality to the table.

Different schedules.
Different priorities.
Different restrictions.
Different goals.
Different definitions of what makes food work for them.

The longer I build Nutri-3, the less interested I become in universal answers.

And the more interested I become in creating food that can adapt to real life.

Maybe that’s the lesson I’ve taken away from this week.

Food doesn’t need to be perfect.

It just needs to work for the people eating it.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation, asked a question, or took something home this weekend.

Those moments continue to shape how I think about food — and how I build this business.

The most common question I get at markets is surprisingly simple.

It’s not about nutrition.
Not about ingredients.
Not even about trends.

It’s usually some version of:

“Which one should I pick?”
or
“Which one is easiest?”

And over time, that pattern has made me realize something important.

Most people are not looking for more food options.

They are looking for clearer ones.

Food decisions already sit inside busy lives, limited time, and constant mental load.

So what people actually value in those moments is not variety for the sake of variety, but clarity, simplicity, and ease of choice.

It has quietly changed how I think about building food products.

Because sometimes the biggest barrier is not access to food…

It’s decision fatigue.

The same food can feel completely different to different people.

For one person, it feels comforting.
For another, it feels stressful.
For someone else, it simply feels safe.

I think we often talk about food only through nutrition, ingredients, calories, or trends.

But food is emotional long before it becomes nutritional.

It carries memory, routine, anxiety, comfort, culture, restrictions, convenience, and identity, all at once.

And the older I get, the more I realize that people do not experience food in the same way at all.

Something that feels simple to one person may feel overwhelming to another.

Something that feels ordinary to one person may feel deeply meaningful to someone else.

Maybe that’s why conversations around food can become so personal so quickly.

Because food is never just food.
