Today we are talking about the side effect nobody warns you about on a GLP-1 π©
Our program dietitian Evan Huang-Ku (RD, MPH) is breaking down why this happens and what actually works.
If things have slowed waaay down since starting Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound, you are not broken, and you are not alone. GLP-1s literally slow your digestion (that is part of how they work), so when you pair that with lower food volume and less fiber, things back up fast.
Save this for the 4 things that actually help our MWM clients get moving again:
β
Give your body time to adjust
β
Add fiber slowly (jumping straight to 30g will make it worse)
β
Walk 10 to 15 minutes after meals to wake up your gut
β
Hydration plus an osmotic laxative like MiraLAX when needed
