We are thrilled to announce that a landmark clinical study evaluating the ToeFX light therapy system for severe onychomycosis was published this week in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association (JAPMA), recognized among the top 10 podiatry journals in clinical podiatric medicine. 🎉
This is the largest clinical study to date evaluating light therapy for severe onychomycosis. The study evaluated 165 toenails with severe onychomycosis, with 72.7% achieving ≥3 mm of healthy nail growth or total clearance after 6 months. These results are comparable to the current standard of care, but with no risk of drug interferences and zero reported side effects, making it highly suitable for vulnerable patients with comorbidities.
The publication represents years of patient recruitment, treatment, follow-up, data collection, statistical analysis and scientific collaboration - bringing this work into the peer-reviewed scientific literature and adding to the growing body of evidence surrounding light therapy.
