The World Parkinsons Conference is currently on in Pheonix Arizona and our very own Kaley is there! This is a time for world leaders to come together and to share new research and ideas. Its a time to learn and hopefully have some new understanding or ideas we can implement! Its also a time to present posters of our own research for the light therapy trials here in Canada and Australia!

This is what Parkinson’s rehab can look like.

At Gaitway Neurophysio, we don’t just “exercise.”
we train the brain and body together 🧠🤝

✔️ External cues to improve movement timing
✔️ Task-specific drills to build real-world carryover
✔️ Layered challenges to safely improve balance and coordination

And most importantly
✔️ We keep it engaging so patients actually want to keep going

Because progress happens when movement is practiced with purpose.

A closer look at posture changes after neurophysiotherapy.

On the left image, the posture shows a more forward-flexed position
with rounded upper back and a forward head posture.

On the right image, there is a more upright and aligned posture
with improved head position and better overall postural control.

These changes are often supported through neurophysiotherapy and neuro-pilates 🤝
with targeted work on posture, strength, movement awareness, and functional training.

For individuals living with Parkinson’s, this approach may help improve how the body moves, aligns, and responds in everyday activities. 🌿

Small, guided changes can make a meaningful difference over time.

The question we get asked all the time…

“What can physio do for Parkinson’s?”

Parkinson’s is a neurological condition, which means movement changes, but it does not mean movement stops.

Through neuro physiotherapy, we focus on retraining the brain and body to move better using targeted, evidence-based strategies such as external cues, repetition and intensity, task-specific training, balance challenges, and dual-task movement. We help improve freezing of gait and balance issues, postural changes and pain issues.

These approaches help improve confidence, independence, and quality of movement in daily life 🤍

We were proud to be featured on local news!

This event was more than a simple gathering. It was about connection, movement, and support for every person and family present. 🤝

At Gaitway Neurophysio, we believe care goes beyond treatment sessions. It means creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

Moments like these remind us that no one has to go through this alone.

If you or a loved one is living with Parkinson’s, we’re here to support you, inside and outside the clinic.

Understanding new therapies can feel overwhelming, especially when managing a condition like Parkinson’s. You’re not alone in exploring options that may support better movement, comfort, and quality of life 💙

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, is a physiotherapy-supported approach that uses light energy to help your cells function more efficiently. By supporting energy production at the cellular level, it may help reduce pain, support healing, and improve overall function.

If you’re curious or wondering if this could be right for you or a loved one, we’re here to help.

💬 Drop your question below. We’d be glad to guide you.
