🌿 A Grateful Heart and Meaningful Connections 🌿

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of meeting with Raisa through LaunchIt Minto, who connected me with a wonderful Chamber Connects Summer Lunch alongside other businesses and entrepreneurs from throughout Minto and Wellington North.

What a beautiful experience it was!

From the thoughtful conversations and welcoming atmosphere to the delicious lunch prepared by our very own local Chef May, from Mays Cafe down town Harriston, the day was a lovely reminder of how much heart exists within our community. 💚

I met some pretty awesome individuals behind established local businesses, along with fellow entrepreneurs who, like me, are following a vision and working to build something meaningful.

Starting Let’s Stay Home Care has never been just about creating a business. It has been about answering a calling to support our aging loved ones, honour their dignity and help families feel less alone throughout the journey.

Sitting among people who understand the courage, faith and determination it takes to begin something new reminded me that God has a way of placing the right people in our path at just the right time. 🙏

To Raisa, LaunchIt Minto, the Minto Chamber and everyone who helped make this gathering possible: thank you for the warm welcome, encouragement and opportunity to connect.

I look forward to many more conversations, connections and moments of guidance as Let’s Stay Home Care becomes all that I have prayed it will be. 🌿

With gratitude,

Christina Dettweiler

🌿Well its Friday!!! Another week getting tucked into the books so to speak🌿

This week I focused my attention on Town of Minto Page and "hearing" what our fellow community members interests, concers and ideas were/ are in relation to aging and activities in the area. Really trying to see what our "Older" Adults wants and needs are.

I was asked today what age "Older" adults are lol. I was stumped in a sence that I work daily with individuals over 90. Not to often do i think thats old anymore. 😉

Our Local businesses sponsor public swims through the summer and this young lady mentioned Aqua swims!!!! What a fabulous idea. Thats what Lets Stay Home Care is all about!!!! While assisting with keeping our aging loved ones at home, I want to encourage them to stay active and fit too. I reached out to the town of Minto about this becoming a possibility for next summer. You never know where your seed comes from for the planting of your growing business. The lady that commented about Aqua swims sponsors , I sure hope she smile next year. I owe her a sponsored session 😀

Whats everyone's plans for the weekend??

Be sure to check in on your senior neighbors, you never know if they may need a bag of milk or their post office checked. Maybe they just need a simple "Im here"

Remember, if you or someone you may know could benefit with the assistance of Let’s Stay Home Care, Im a phone call, email or message close 😉. Never any obligation or pressure.

“Today reminded me that showing up for the people we care about matters—even during the busy and difficult seasons.”

Its a best blessing life has to offer!

🌿 I’m Still Here—Life Has Just Been Full

It has been a little quiet on this page, but life behind the screen certainly hasn’t been quiet.

Over the past week, I have been working at the nursing home, responding to emails from organizations excited about helping my Home care get started with my visions and an advertising opportunity that is excellent (but not quite at that point yet), creating new business cards and continuing to work behind the scenes on Let’s Stay Home Care.

In between all of that, I have also been living life.

I went to see David Wilcox and Kim Mitchell with my husband and friends—and we were gifted this beautiful double rainbow.

My youngest Grandson and I made a delicious peach upside down cake for my dad and spent some meaningful time with them both and my Daughter.

I attempted to catch up around the house while a fence is being built, and I remain incredibly grateful for my Daughter and Husband, who keep our home standing when I feel pulled in several directions or just need rest!

Caregiving, family, work, friendship and building a business do not always fit into neat little boxes. Sometimes being present where I am needed means social media becomes quiet for a few days.

But I am still here.

Still learning.
Still caring.
Still building.
And still believing deeply in the purpose behind Let’s Stay Home Care.

Thank you for continuing to be here too. 🧡

🌿 Support Can Begin With One Small Visit

Home care does not always need to begin with several hours every day.

Sometimes a family simply needs a little dependable support with:

• Wellness and safety check-ins
• Bathing, hygiene and personal care
• Morning or evening routines
• Toileting and continence care
• Meal preparation and hydration
• Medication reminders
• Friendship and companionship
• Dementia-informed support
• Mobility and fall-prevention observations
• Respite for family caregivers
• Palliative and end-of-life comfort
• Communication about meaningful wellness changes

Let’s Stay Home Care provides consistent, one-to-one support from one certified and insured Personal Support Worker.

Care begins with listening and is shaped around the individual—not simply a list of tasks.
