Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association KTRA offers therapeutic riding for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities. https://boogiethebridge.com/volunteer/

KTRA's riding lessons benefits the riders by using the motivating medium of horse care and riding we draw an individual’s attention to their strengths, successes and most importantly build self-esteem. Through horse care and riding we will teach those social and behavior skills necessary to function and succeed in a social world. It is these skills that are vital to self-esteem and ultimately determine the place a person fills in this society.

Meet Kassia’s version of Piper.

After her very first lesson, Kassia went home and built this little masterpiece out of popsicle sticks. We think she nailed it.

This is exactly the kind of thing that reminds us why we do what we do. When a child connects so deeply with a horse that they go home and recreate her from craft supplies, something really special is happening.

Yesterday, we were honoured to partner with Kamloops Hospice for their annual camp for kids who have experienced loss in their families.

The arena was set, the horses were ready, and the magic happened.

There's something truly special about what happens when a child finds peace in the presence of a horse. It's more than riding -- it's healing.

We are off to an amazing start!

The 5th Annual KTRA Steeplechase Ride-A-Thon has raised $2,185 so far, and we are just getting started. The horses are moving on the track, and our riders are working hard to reach our $10,000 goal!

We are launching an online Silent Auction starting October 27th as part of our Trivia Throwdown fundraiser on November 5th. The best part — you do not have to be at the event to participate. Anyone can bid from anywhere!

All funds raised go directly toward our adaptive riding program and the horses that make it all possible. Stay tuned for bidding details coming very soon!
