I attended an empowerment retreat this past weekend, and one theme kept showing up again and again: fear.

Fear of trying.
Fear of failing.
Fear of not being good enough.
Fear of judgment.
Fear of change.

What struck me most was how easily we could encourage and uplift one another, yet so many of us struggled to offer that same compassion to ourselves.

🍟 Craving French fries?!

This week's Feature Recipe Friday is the ultimate fast food fix.

These Baby Smashed Potatoes deliver everything you love about fries... crispy edges, fluffy centres, and serious comfort food vibes...without compromising your goals.

They're the perfect side dish for summer BBQs, weeknight dinners, or anytime you're looking for a healthier way to satisfy a craving.

Proof that healthy eating doesn't have to feel restrictive. πŸ˜‹

Baby Smashed Potatoes
Serves 4
1 Serving = 1 starch | 1 fat

Ingredients:
400g baby potatoes, raw measurement
1 tbsp + 1 tsp olive oil
Fresh black pepper, to preference
Clubhouse Garlic & Herb Seasoning, to preference

Chives and/or parsley, optional

Directions:
Boil the potatoes for 15 minutes until just cooked (easily pieces with a sharp knife without falling apart). Transfer and leave them to drain in a colander so the outsides dry out. Preheat the oven to 450F. Toss potatoes with olive oil and season with garlic and black pepper. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Place potatoes on baking sheet and use glass to smash them. Bake for 30-40 minutes until crispy and golden. Divide into four equal portions. Optional - Garnish with chives or parsley. Enjoy!

I hear this all the time.

But what if I told you that my daily habits have very little to do with willpower?

Hear me out...

Willpower is unreliable. It should be your last resort, not your primary strategy. Relying on willpower is like making a wish and hoping for the best. It's not a sustainable path to success.

Building self-trust will take you so much farther.

That might look like:

πŸ• Making mistakes and not quitting

πŸƒ Learning, adapting, and trying again

πŸ’— Giving yourself grace instead of criticism

πŸ₯³ Celebrating the moments you show up

πŸ₯— Keeping small promises to yourself, even when you don't feel like it

Teriyaki Tofu Bowls
Serves 4
1 Serving = 1 Protein | 2 Veg | 1 Starch | 1 Fat | 1 Condiment

Ingredients:
680g Kirkland Extra Firm Tofu (80 calories, 10g protein, 0mg sodium per 85g)
2/3 cup dry Quinoa (you will need 2 cups cooked)
2 cups frozen edamame beans
4 cups cucumber, finely diced
2 avocado, cut into chunks or slices
1 jalapeno, thinly sliced
1/2 cup Naked & Saucy Teriyaki sauce (20 calories, 2g sugar, 100mg sodium per 1 tbsp)

Directions:
Press the water out of the tofu. Prepare quinoa according to package directions. Cook edamame according to package directions. Cut the tofu into cubes. Spray pan with non-fat cooking spray over medium high heat. Add the tofu and fry until golden brown. Coat with no-salt-added seasoning of choice (garlic, black pepper, cayenne, onion powder, etc).

Assemble each bowl with 1/2 cup quinoa, 95g cooked tofu, 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce, 1/2 cup edamame, 1 cup cucumber, and garnish with 1/2 avocado and jalapeno (optional).

Variation - substitute 1 lb of chicken/salmon/beef in place of tofu. 2.8 oz cooked = 1 Protein
