Renew Counselling & Health Coaching

Renew Counselling & Health Coaching Renew Counselling & Health Coaching is a mental health-first, integrative clinic in Kelowna, BC. That place is “Girl Goals”! Ready to get started?!

We offer trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, youth, and students, blending deep clinical care with whole-person healing. Imagine a place where teen girls go to feel safe, boost their self-confidence and have not only one coach, but TWO COACHES on their side helping them navigate all of the emotional, physical and social stressors that the teen years bring. More and mo

re, we see teen girls coming to Renew seeking help with low self-esteem, lack of confidence in their bodies, conflict in relationships, eating disorders, social anxiety and depression. The outcome of these stressors have become life altering for some. We’ve seen girls who have withdrawn from the school system due to anxiety and bullying, self-harm and suicide attempts are on the rise, and parents can’t seem to keep up with the ongoing pressures from social media platforms. While counselling has its benefits, often treatment can be slow and drawn out…One hour of counselling per week countered with 167 hours with peers, social media, and their racing thoughts can take many sessions to see any improvements. That is why we have developed “GIRL GOALS”! Our teens not only get one virtual coaching session per week, they have access to an exclusive Facebook group where they can connect with their coaches on an ongoing basis! Not only do they have support from their coaches, they have a safe place to connect with like-minded teens who are going through the same struggles. We understand that group interaction can be scary, that is why we are using Zoom so the client can stay anonymous until they are comfortable and ready! Who “GIRL GOALS” is for:

Teen girls (or any teen who identifies as a girl) who struggle with….
- Body Image
- Social Media Comparison
- Bullying
- Sexting
- Limiting Beliefs
- Social Anxiety
- Suicide/Self-harm
- Relationships
- Emotional Regulation
- Periods & Hormones/PMS
- Assertive Communication
- Goal Setting
- Physical Health

 Our girls learn how do develop their self-worth from a young age so they can carry themselves with confidence for the rest of their lives.

 Our girls learn how to set healthy boundaries and communicate with assertiveness.

 Our girls are able to change the “I can’t” to “I can do anything I set my mind to”.

 Our girls are able to manage their social anxiety and finally making positive connections.

 Our girls are setting goals at a young age and are becoming empowered to chase their dreams.

 Most of all, our girls are learning to respect and love themselves from the inside out and are developing a bulletproof mindset that will benefit them long into their adult years. Best of all, we are able to offer this program at a fraction of the cost of traditional therapy! Weekly sessions can cost anywhere between $450-$800 per month, and like we mentioned earlier, the process can be long and frustrating for not only the child, but the parents as well. GIRL GOALS gives you way more value, and much more time spent with your teen for only $199 per month. Call or text 250 826 7074

The program runs on a month-to-month basis, with NO CONTRACT! This means you are not locked into a 10-week program, this is ongoing for as little or as long as you and your child wants.

Survival mode doesn’t always feel like survival mode.

Sometimes it looks like staying busy because slowing down feels uncomfortable. Overthinking everything. Being easily irritated. Feeling exhausted but struggling to actually rest.

And when you’ve lived that way for long enough, it can start to feel like this is just who you are.

But constantly pushing through isn’t the same as feeling okay.

You don’t have to wait until you hit a breaking point to acknowledge that something needs to change.

Support can start before the crisis.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking…

“Other people have it worse.”
“I’m probably overthinking it.”
“It’s not that big of a deal.”
“I should be able to handle this.”

We can be so quick to explain away what we’re feeling or convince ourselves that it isn’t “bad enough” to matter.

But if something is weighing on you, affecting how you feel or making everyday life harder, it matters.

You don’t have to justify what you’re feeling to acknowledge it.

And you don’t have to carry it alone.

You don’t have to be falling apart to deserve support.

Sometimes struggling looks a lot like functioning. You’re showing up, taking care of everyone, getting things done and holding it together on the outside, while feeling exhausted or overwhelmed underneath it all.

And sometimes the patterns that helped you get through hard seasons are the same ones that are making life feel heavier now.

Counselling can be a space to understand those patterns, reconnect with what you need and find a way forward that feels more like you.

You don’t have to wait until it gets worse.

Sometimes the hardest seasons are the ones no one else can see.

You’re still showing up. Going to work. Taking care of people. Answering texts. Laughing when something is funny.

From the outside, you look fine.

But inside, you might feel overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted or just… not quite like yourself.

You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart to ask for support.

Sometimes simply recognizing that something feels off is enough of a reason to reach out.

Boundaries can feel uncomfortable, even when they’re healthy.

You can know you need to say no and still feel guilty after saying it. You can know something isn’t working for you and still worry about disappointing someone.

Sometimes the work isn’t just learning how to set the boundary. It’s learning how to sit with the discomfort that can come after it without immediately explaining, apologizing or taking it back.

Someone being disappointed doesn’t automatically mean you’ve done something wrong.

If you need help navigating this, visit renewcoach.ca to book a complimentary session with one of our counsellors.

Healing isn't always loud.

Sometimes it looks like pausing before you react. Setting a boundary without apologizing. Choosing rest instead of pushing through. Letting yourself feel your emotions instead of avoiding them.

Growth rarely happens all at once. More often, it's found in the quiet moments that slowly reshape the way you think, feel, and respond to the world around you.

If you've noticed even one small shift in yourself lately, take a moment to acknowledge it. Healing isn't about perfection. It's about continuing to show up for yourself, one step at a time.

If you're ready to take the next step in your healing journey, we'd be honoured to walk alongside you.

Perfectionism: A Mask for Shame

Is perfectionism secretly hiding shame?

We often think perfectionism is about being thorough or high-achieving, but it can be a mask for shame.

Whether you're the strategist obsessing over every detail or the explorer juggling endless ideas. There’s often a hidden piece of shame fueling it.

Recognizing this can be a game-changer; understanding why you feel the need to be perfect helps you start to heal it.
Worth thinking about.

What’s a time you realized your perfectionism was about more than just being "good"?

What's one thing you're proud of this month? 🤍

Sometimes we get so focused on the next goal, the next milestone, or what's still left to do that we forget to pause and acknowledge how far we've come.

Today is your reminder to celebrate something, no matter how big or small. It could be setting a boundary, asking for help, making time to rest, trying something new, or simply getting through a difficult week.

Every step forward matters.

Tell us in the comments—what's one thing you're proud of this month? We'd love to celebrate with you.

Now it's your turn. What's one thing you're proud of this month, big or small? We'd love to celebrate it with you. 💛

It's more common than you might think to walk into counselling and say, "I'm fine," apologize for crying, or tell your counsellor what you think they want to hear.

If you've spent years trying to keep the peace, avoid being a burden, or put everyone else's needs first, those patterns don't simply disappear when you walk into a therapy session.

An understanding counsellor knows this. There is no expectation that you'll have the right words or all the answers. Their role is to create a space where you can show up honestly, at your own pace.

There is no "right" way to do counselling.

Just come as you are.

If you've been thinking about taking that first step, visit renewcoach.ca to book a complimentary consultation.
