One month.
One month ago, my world changed forever.
This past month has taught me something I could never have understood through words alone.
Perhaps we are not human beings trying to become spiritual.
Perhaps we are eternal souls having one brief human experience.
We arrive here and forget who we truly are. We become consumed by schedules, achievements, fears, expectations, and the illusion that this physical life is all there is.
Then something happens that shakes us awake.
Not because we are being punished.
But because our souls are constantly inviting us to remember.
To remember that love is our true nature.
That consciousness does not end when the body does.
That those we love are never truly gone. They have simply returned Home, while we continue our journey here for a little longer.
If this life is a classroom, then every joy and every heartbreak carries an opportunity for expansion. The experiences we would never choose are often the ones that transform us most profoundly.
One thing I never expected grief to reveal is how clearly it shows you the hearts of the people around you.
When life is easy, it is difficult to know who truly walks beside you.
When your world falls apart, there is nowhere left for masks to hide.
Some people quietly disappear.
Some become uncomfortable with your pain.
Some offer words but never their presence.
And then there are the rare souls who simply stay.
They don't try to fix you. They don't ask you to move on. They sit with you in the darkness, carry part of the weight, and love you without asking for anything in return.
Grief has reminded me that genuine kindness is one of the highest expressions of the soul.
This past month has also shown me the depth of one person's heart in a way I had never fully seen before. I have witnessed quiet acts of love, patience, compassion, and unwavering support that needed no audience. It has reminded me that the truest measure of a person is not who they are when life is easy, but who they become when someone they love is carrying the unimaginable.
This past month has made me ask different questions.
Not, "Why did this happen?"
But, "What is this experience asking my soul to remember?"
Love cannot die because it was never created by the physical world.
The body has an ending.
The soul does not.
It has been one month since my mom completed her earthly journey. While I deeply miss her physical presence, I also feel that love exists beyond what our eyes can perceive. I believe the bonds between souls are not broken by death. They simply change form.
Perhaps the greatest illusion we experience is believing we are separate.
Perhaps the greatest truth is remembering that we never were.
We are eternal beings, walking each other Home.
