🎉☀️ New Vision Family Fun Day! ☀️🎉

What an incredible day of fun, laughter, and community!

Our Family Fun Day brought together staff, leadership, participants, and family members for a wonderful day spent simply enjoying each other's company and having some fun. ❤️

There was certainly no shortage of things to do! We enjoyed a free BBQ, washable tattoo painting, balloon animals, bracelet making, a candy & fruit bar, tug-of-war, and plenty of bouncing and climbing with our bounce castle, pirate ship, and obstacle course! 🏰🏴‍☠️

Days like this are a great reminder that New Vision is about more than the work we do every day — it's about the people, families, friendships, and community that surround it.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped organize, set up, cook, run activities, clean up, and make the day possible. And thank you to everyone who came out and joined us!

Seeing participants, families, staff, and leadership all laughing, playing, eating, and spending time together made the day exactly what we hoped it would be.

Thank you to the Coldbrook and District Lions Club!!!

We couldn't have asked for a better day — or better people to spend it with. 💙

🌊 An Amazing Day on the Water! ⚓☀️

Some of our participants recently had the opportunity to head out with Salty Dog Sea Tours for an incredible adventure exploring the beautiful waters of Chester Basin and Oak Island! 🛥️🏝️

Aboard their full-size tour boats, everyone got to take in the stunning scenery, enjoy the fresh sea air, and experience our beautiful Nova Scotia coastline from a whole new perspective.

A huge shout-out to Skipper Tony and the entire Salty Dog Sea Tours team! 👏 The staff were absolutely fantastic — welcoming, talented, patient, and above all, they treated everyone with genuine kindness, dignity, and respect. That means a great deal to us.

Thank you for helping create such a fun and memorable experience for our participants. There were plenty of smiles and some great memories made on the water! 💙⚓

🏌️‍♂️ One More Round of Golf Tournament Highlights! ⛳

We shared some of the fun from our Golf Tournament, but we couldn’t leave out our winning teams and all those raffle prizes! 🏆🎟️

A huge congratulations to our top teams:

🥇 1st Place – Glooscap Ventures
🥈 2nd Place – Our surprise team from England! They joined the tournament while travelling and told us they love jumping into random events along the way — how cool is that?!
🥉 3rd Place – Eagle Crest Team
🏌️ 4th Place – Joe’s Food Emporium
🏌️ 5th Place – CORE
🏌️ 6th Place – New Vision

And, of course, congratulations to everyone who walked away with one of the many raffle prizes! 🎁

Thank you again to everyone who donated prizes, sponsored, golfed, volunteered, BBQ’d, worked a hole, or simply came out and joined in the fun. It took a lot of people to make the day such a success, and we’re incredibly grateful for every bit of support.

Most importantly, the funds raised will help us purchase accessibility equipment, including an AccessDesk and Beach Mat, helping provide safer and more accessible enjoyment of our beautiful waterfronts for people with mobility concerns. 💙

🏌️ What a Day at the New Vision Golf Tournament! ⛳

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this year’s tournament such a great day!

🏆 Tournament Results:
🥇 1st Place – Glooscap Ventures
🥈 2nd Place – Our surprise team from England! They happened to be in the area, joined the tournament completely at random, and apparently make a habit of travelling around and jumping into random events along the way. We’re pretty glad ours made the list! 🇬🇧
🥉 3rd Place – Eagle Crest Team
4th – Joe’s Food Emporium
5th – CORE
6th – New Vision

But the day was about much more than the leaderboard.

Our participants were a big part of the event — helping out at different holes, spending time at the BBQ, welcoming golfers and enjoying everything happening throughout the day. Everyone had a chance to participate, and there were plenty of laughs and great moments along the way.

Most importantly, funds raised from the tournament will help us purchase accessibility equipment, including an AccessDesk and Beach Mat, helping provide safer and more accessible opportunities for people with mobility concerns to enjoy our beautiful beaches and waterfronts. ♿🏖️

What a beautiful day to take part in the .shelburne Parade! This year’s parade theme was Board Games — which couldn’t have been more fitting for some of our participants.

Let’s just say… Yahtzee is taken VERY seriously around here. 😂🎲 When you play it pretty much every day, you’re more than ready for a board-game-themed parade!

Our participants had a great time decorating and joining the parade in the New Vision van, enjoying the sunshine, the crowds, and all the creativity along the route.

A big thank you to everyone in Shelburne who came out and made it such a fun day!
