Annapolis Valley Office News!⭐

Effective immediately, 2 Calkin Drive in Kentville will be our operating location in the Annapolis Valley.
This brings Family Support, QuickStart, Economic Inclusion, Programming and more together under one roof.

Staff who were at our New Minas office (8865 Commercial Street) have rejoined with our Kentville office at 2 Calkin Drive, bringing our team together in one location to make the best use of our space and resources for the families we support.

We look forward to welcoming families to our shared space! Thank you for your understanding during this transition. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] or phone 902-349-9318

More details about groups and locations coming soon!

Do you know why we call our groups "Social-ish Groups"?

We call them Social-ish groups because we know that being “social” looks different for everyone! Sometimes you might feel like chatting, joining games, or making new friends, and other times you might just want to hang out quietly and enjoy being around others. Both are completely okay here. The “-ish” celebrates individuality and reminds everyone that you can participate in whatever way feels right for you.
It’s your space, your pace.

Our amazing team!

This week, our Chapter Coordinators had the chance to come together at Autism Nova Scotia’s central office! 💛

With our chapters spread across the province, time together means lots of brainstorming, planning, sharing ideas, and learning from one another.

Our Chapter Coordinators are the regional leads for Autism Nova Scotia’s chapters across the province. Their work includes supporting autistic individuals and families, fund development, program planning, community connections, and overseeing the overall operations of their local chapters.

Communication doesn’t always happen through words. Gestures, facial expressions, body language, and other forms of communication can help us connect, express our needs, and understand one another.🩷

Our latest QuickStart blog explores how simple gestures can help support development and connection in everyday moments: https://www.autismnovascotia.ca/little-gestures-big-communication/
