At ClearWater Farm, a project of the Ontario Water Centre, we engage in active learning with youth to inform and inspire a strong sense of place. We believe that a water-wise connection with the land is essential to regenerative farming and leads to sustainability and food security. Our Young Agri-preneurs grow fresh, healthy food, and support the economy. Our Georgina barn is being rebuilt to connect the community and our ClearWaterKids.org site is inspiring the wonder years generation.

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Mila, our Communications Specialist and summer student here at ClearWater Farm! 💚🌱

Mila has brought creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the team while spending her summer learning and expanding her business and communications knowledge through hands-on experience.

From creating content and sharing the story of ClearWater Farm to supporting community engagement and special projects, Mila has been eager to learn, grow, and take on new opportunities every day.

This week's pick is kohlrabi - and it's Grace's favourite vegetable! 💚

If you've never tried kohlrabi before, you're not alone! This unique-looking veggie is part of the cabbage family and has a crisp, crunchy texture with a mildly sweet flavour. Many people say it tastes like a mix between broccoli stems and apple. 🍏🥦

Cooking tips:
🥗 Slice it into sticks for a fresh snack with dip
🥬 Add it to salads for extra crunch
🔥 Roast it with olive oil and your favourite seasonings
🍲 Mash it up with onions and garlic then bake in the oven

Our team has been busy harvesting fresh produce, organizing this week’s shares, and getting everything ready for delivery starting tomorrow - Thursday, June 11th

This week, we’re also proud to continue supporting local farmers in the Georgina area by including:
