Rhythmic movement has a naturally calming effect on the body, it seems to be hard-wired into our being and can be observed from birth.
Two common examples of rhythmic movements which assist and benefit:
- Gentle bouncing or rocking will calm a restless infant- parents instinctively know this.
- REM sleep is a stage of sleep where our eyes move/vibrate behind closed eyes. REM plays an important role in dreaming, memory, emotional processing, and healthy brain development.
TRE® is a modality that taps into the body’s innate response of shaking which often occurs after a stressful/traumatic event, almost like a ‘reset’ button to help release muscular tension, dump adrenalin , calm the nervous system and restore balance.
Contact me if you would like to further explore this tension release process. Individual and occasional small group classes offered in Kimberley, BC. Planning a small group workshop in July. Message Bev at TRE in East Kootenays if you would like to join, let me know days/ times that work for you.

A quote from the book 'Why Fascia Matters' by Brooke Thomas :
"It turns out fascia is our richest, and our largest, sensory organ with ten times
higher quantity of sensory nerve receptors than the muscles (Van der Wal
2009)."
A regular TRE® practice assists in keeping fascia in a healthier state.
If you would like to try TRE® join a small group workshop, contact Bev at TRE in East Kootenays.

Have some time this evening and want to know more about TRE and how it can help regulate your nervous system. We all need this so I will be joining Mainey and I invite you to come along. Send me a message if you need the link to join the Zoom online meeting.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆.

We’ve normalized coping.
But we haven’t normalized releasing.

Think about that for a moment.

Most people have ways to get through the day…
Coffee.
Workouts.
Talking it out.
Distraction.

All helpful. All valid.

But very few have a way to actually let stress leave the body.

Because stress doesn’t just live in your thoughts.
It lives in your nervous system.
In your muscles.
In the subtle tension you don’t even realize you’re carrying.

So we keep going…
while the body keeps holding.

This is where TRE® quietly changes everything.

Not because it’s complex…
But because it’s so simple.

It’s easy to learn.
It’s easy to do.

And here’s the part that surprises most people…

It’s involuntary.

You’re not making anything happen.
You’re not forcing a release.

Your body is.

Because your body is 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁.
At a core, instinctive level… it already knows how to let go of tension, stress, and stored emotion.

It just hasn’t been given the space.

So when you learn TRE®, you’re not adding another tool to your list…

You’re 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

And once you feel it…
once you trust it…

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁.

Anytime life builds.
Anytime your system feels overloaded.
Anytime you need to come back to yourself.

No overthinking.
No dependency.

Just you… and a body that knows exactly what it’s doing.

And the wild part?

Something this natural…
this effective…

is still sitting quietly in the background
while so many people are searching for relief.

Maybe it’s time that changed.

If you’re curious… I’m hosting a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗥𝗘® 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟳𝘁𝗵, @𝟳𝗽𝗺. A simple space to learn more and to experience it for yourself, and see what your body already knows.

I am currently reading the book 'Surviving Survival: The Art and Science of Resilience' by Laurence Gonzales. This book documents different people's traumatic experiences and what helped them to overcome the event and gain greater resilience.
Each person's story has brought to mind this quote from Bessel van der Kolk.
Mention is often made of somatic, body-based methods that have worked for the survivors.
TRE is a body-based approach, once learned it can easily be used whenever needed.
Contact TRE in East Kootenays to find out more about this method.

A beautiful day in the East Kootenays to be outdoors for a walk/run.
Have you ever wondered - when you walk your dog, he will often stop and give his body a good 'shake'. The “Dog Field Study” – shows taking a dog for a walk- every time it shakes heart rate slows down. Happened 100% with dogs- had a 12-15% heart rate decrease. Catch the clip on YouTube at Dog Field Study - Shaking it off, effect on dog's pulse. https://youtu.be/J6f4P-m6N3A?si=ughSUVghekj9VinK

Sharing this important perspective about the TRE process. TRE in East Kootenays is planning an in person workshop in May. Message Bev if you live in the Kimberley/ Cranbrook area and are interested in attending.

This review from Shemaiah says it all, and it touches on something I feel strongly about.

Yes, you can learn TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) from a YouTube video. And that has value. But there is so much nuance that comes from learning human-to-human.

Our nervous systems learn to self-regulate through co-regulation, being in the presence of a safe, grounded person. Not just once, but across a few repeated sessions. That repetition is where the real shift happens.

Most people need between 3–6 sessions to feel truly comfortable with the neurogenic tremors. Some need a little more support, others less. There's no one-size-fits-all, and that's exactly why having someone with you matters.

What Shemaiah describes, feeling safe, supported, and more connected in daily life, that's what becomes possible when the nervous system finally gets to exhale.

Curious about TRE? Send me a message, and we can talk about whether it's a good fit for you.
