Thinking about lip filler? Here’s exactly what to expect before, during, and after your appointment 👄✨

Before your appointment:
Avoid alcohol, blood thinners (like Advil, aspirin, fish oil), and excessive caffeine for 24–48 hours to minimize bruising. Come with clean, makeup-free lips if possible, and be ready to chat about your goals so we can create a plan that fits your natural features.

During your appointment:
We’ll start with a consultation to go over shape, balance, and desired results. A numbing agent is applied to keep you comfortable. I use precise techniques (including cannula when appropriate) to enhance your lips while maintaining a natural look. You may feel slight pressure or pinching, but most clients find it very tolerable!

After your appointment:
Expect some swelling and possible bruising—this is completely normal and temporary. Lips may look fuller the first few days before settling into your final result around 2 weeks. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat for 24 hours. Stay hydrated and follow all aftercare instructions for the best results!

For this first-time lip filler client, I chose the cannula technique to minimize the risk of bruising and reduce swelling. Our goal was to enhance the height of the lateral upper lip—toward the corners of the mouth—to create better balance and reshape her natural heart/M-shaped lips. ☺️
