It was a normal Friday afternoon in January when my phone notifications started going wild. “I didn’t get paid!” “I can’t access my account!” “What happened to my hostess benefits?” Question after question. I thought the company had been hacked. Nope. They went bankrupt.
After almost 15 years in the business, I didn’t want to make a change. I was part of a great community and my family was rebuilding after a few very tough years. So what now? I was known as “Mrs. Brown Cooks” and I lost my passion for cooking. I dislike cleaning, and my makeup skills are laughable.
The product I use second most is essential oils. The switch seemed natural, but I felt like a puzzle piece was missing. Then came an email from Dr. Roark, The Essential Oil Vet - . She was offering an animal aromatherapy certification course. I already knew Janet from a professional development program we had been part of years earlier. I trusted her and my own dog needed help, so I signed up.
Wow!!! I thought I loved essential oils before, but when I learned how they can help our fur babies, I couldn’t get enough knowledge! I now have my level one certification and I am working towards level two. I’ve provided tips for animals experiencing allergies, joint pain, fear, grief and post surgery recovery.
Our sweet Olaf fell down the stairs recently and, along with veterinary and chiropractic care, I was able to help him heal using a layering technique I learned during the course. He’s doing much better now, thankfully.
Animal aromatherapy is my new passion. If you are at all curious about this new path and how your own pets might benefit, let’s chat!
