It’s coming! Summer is finally coming! The sun is shining, the air is hot, but how do you keep your makeup looking on point during these summer months without using a ton of new products?
Pretty simple.
Here are some tips and tricks for keeping your makeup looking great this summer:
DO: Add a toner to your skincare routine. You may not need to change out your entire skincare to a different formula during these hotter months. Try adding a toner after your cleanser (my favorite is clearproof toner) Apply your moisturizer (with spf of course) after.
DON’T: wear a heavy foundation on those hot days. Try something lighter like a CC cream (complexion corrector) instead.
DO: Apply powder over ANY liquid. For example. A cc cream on your face, apply a light coat of pressed powder with your fluffy brush. Eye primer or concealer on your eyelids, set with a pressed powder with a smaller fluffy eyeshadow brush. This will help to absorb the current and future moisture on your skin throughout the day.
DON’T: Overdo it on the eye makeup on those super hot days, especially if you will be spending it outside. As soon as wind hits your eyes and you are in a full smokey eye look, you end up looking like Johnny Depp on Pirates of the Caribbean. Instead, try something lighter on your eyes like a liquid eyeshadow, a dark shadow for your eyeliner (applied with an angled brush) and a waterproof mascara.
DO: Use a setting spray. I use a setting spray by skindinavia and it is pure magic. I give myself a few extra sprays in the summer and it works like a charm.
Just adding a few simple products to your routine can be a real game changer.
